Fighting games usually come to mind first when people think of them. People usually think of big names like Street Fighter, Dead or Alive, and Mortal Kombat when they do. The fact that they’ve been around for a long time and are so popular isn’t a surprise.
A lot of anime games have come out with fighting games, but there are only a few that fans really love! The fans of anime games love these games because they are so good at gameplay and stay true to the source material.
Dragon Ball FighterZ
The Dragon Ball series has plenty of games to choose from. Dragon Ball FighterZ is the latest fighting game to come from it.
The story, gameplay, character roster, and music were highly praised by critics and fans alike. It gave fans the chance to build their perfect team for the 3-on-3 fights, letting them have some fun trying out which characters work best together.
A game that came out in 2008 for the PlayStation 2 and the PSP was a game Fate/stay night fans think this game is one of the best.
People who aren’t very good at games can play this game with ease. For fans of the show, this was a big deal because they could play as their favourite characters. For anyone that wasn’t familiar with the series, it did get a little confusing, but it was easy to catch on.
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle
A lot of games have been made about Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure over the years. People who like Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle will be happy with this new game. Fight games like this one let fans reenact scenes from their favourite shows and had a lot of different game modes that kept fans coming back for more.
Everyone fights in a different Battle Style, and fans can use skills and abilities from the show. When fighters use Vampire or Pillar Men Battle Styles, they can only fight in indoor and nighttime stages until certain conditions are met. This makes the game more interesting.
A game called Tsukihime isn’t very well known. There will be a new version of the game for PS4 and Nintendo Switch in 2021. If you don’t know much about Melty Blood’s story, it might be hard to follow. But it doesn’t stop it from being one of the best anime fighting games out there. More than 30 characters from the Type-Moon series appear in the Melty Blood series.
Because the game is 2D, the graphics are bright and each character’s sprite moves pretty quickly. For cancels and chain combos, Melty Blood uses a lot of different fighting game techniques that are used in other games, like fighting games. Pokken Tournament DX is an interesting game that takes the fighting from the Pokemon series and turns it into a fighting game that makes the action even better and gets rid of everything else.
People are excited about how far the series has come. This is a fun way to put the Pokemon in front of people without their trainers getting in the way. Even the song “Magikarp” is great.
KILL La KILL- IF
It can be hard to say what kind of anime KILL la KILL is in just a few words. The story follows Ryuko as she tries to find out the truth about her father’s death. Satsuki Kiryuin, the student president of Honnouji Academy, seems to know the answer. KILL la KILL-IF follows the anime through a different storyline that instead follows Satsuki Kiryuin.
People who played roles in the anime are back, and they’re playing their roles in the game as well. There is a gameplay mechanic called “Bloody Valor” that lets players mock and taunt their opponents to do more damage.
BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle
When you play BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, you get to play a lot of different fighting games and RWBY for the first time. Players can choose two characters from four different series and fight against each other in two-on-two battles to get fragments of a “Keystone.” These fragments will send the characters back to their own universes.
Each character is drawn in the style of BlazBlue, and their special moves are turned into Astral Finishes that can be used in the game. The game had 40 characters at the start, 20 in the base game and 20 in add-ons. It has since added more characters. A lot of characters are going to be added to the game as DLC, like Neo from RWBY and characters from three other fighting games.
Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax
It was made by French Bread and Ecole Software. Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax is a game about fighting. There are many light-novel series that were written by Dengeki Bunko. This game is a mix of all of them, made by Sega. The base game has a roster of 14 well-known characters from games like Sword Art Online, Durarara!!, Valkyria Chronicles, Virtua Fighter, and many more.
Players can choose their main character, as well as a helper character. The controls of the game are designed to be easy to learn, but complex combos can be made with the simple controls. And because it’s made by Sega, players can play on stages from their favourite Sega games, like Sonic the Hedgehog, when they play this game.
Persona 4 Arena
Persona 4 Arena is the first game in the Persona series to have a fight mode. a few months after Persona 4. It has most of the main cast from Persona 3 who are two years older than they were in the first game. As two people who look like Teddie and Rise hold a tournament, the Investigation Team and the former members of SEES come across each other. They must fight each other.
Along with 13 of the main characters from both Persona 3 and 4 is a new character, a mysterious girl without a Persona. All of the characters have control over their Persona, which has a special move, and the battle stages are places from both games that the characters have seen before.
