Etrian Odyssey IV
Most people think that Etrian Odyssey IV, a dungeon-crawling JRPG for the Nintendo 3DS that came out in 2013, is the best game in the series. This includes its sequel, Etrian Odyssey V, which also only had one dungeon to explore.
Etrian Odyssey IV, on the other hand, has a more open overworld and smaller dungeons. It’s also the easiest game in the series to get into, and it might have one of the most interesting stories in the series.
Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse
Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse came out in 2016 for the Nintendo 3DS. It is both a sequel to and a remake of Shin Megami Tensei IV, which came out three years before. Apocalypse has a completely different timeline from its predecessor. This makes the game easier for new players to get into and makes it a much better game overall.
It looks great and goes beyond what the 3DS can do graphically. Also, the game feels more like SMT: Nocturne, which is a fan favourite for many people who like the series.

Released in 2017 for the Nintendo 3DS, Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux is a remastered and expanded version of the Nintendo DS original that released in the US in 2010. It’s a dungeon-crawling RPG similar to the Etrian Odyssey series in how it works.
The game combines elements from old science fiction movies with the dark fantasy and horror themes that have become a trademark of the series. Like its predecessors, it has a lot of depth, multiple endings, and a hard but fair learning curve.
Persona 3 FES
Persona 3, which came out in 2006 for the PlayStation 2, was the first Shin Megami Tensei game that really caught the attention of RPG fans and brought the series into the mainstream. It’s still one of the most popular games in the series, and many people still think it’s one of the best JRPGs ever made.
A year later, Persona 3 FES came out on PS2 with new story elements, a new ending, and new Social Link options. The Social Links and the way the story and characters grow naturally are what make this series different from other JRPGs.
SMT Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha Vs. King Abbadon
Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abbadon came out in 2009 for the PlayStation 2. It is the direct sequel to the first Raidou game for the PlayStation 2.
Like its predecessor, it takes place in an alternate universe version of Japan in the 1930s and features real people from that time. At first glance, it doesn’t seem that different from the first game, but the improvements to the quality of life and the more refined combat made it a much better game.
Digital Devil Saga 1 And 2
The Digital Devil Saga is a two-part series of post-apocalyptic JRPGs. The first part came out in 2004, and the second part came out in 2004. Even by the standards of Shin Megami Tensei, Digital Devil Saga is very dark, violent, and sad.

Characters, setting, and the way the story goes are some of the most interesting in the SMT universe. Also, the story in Digital Devil Saga is much more focused on the characters than in many of its sister series, in which many of the characters are blank slates that the player fills in. The customization of characters is still a strong point of DDS, and the game is much easier than the core SMT series.
Persona 4 Golden
Persona 4 came out in 2008 for the PlayStation 2. Like its predecessor, it put players in the role of a high school student who is moving to a new school. The game has all of the expected Social Links features, as well as a great murder mystery story to solve.
Persona 4 Golden is an updated and expanded version of the original PlayStation 2 game that can be played on the PSP and now the PC. It has new cutscenes, new things to do after the game is over, and a new main character to choose from at the beginning of the game.
Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology
Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology came out in 2018 for the Nintendo 3DS. It is an expanded version of the original game, which came out in 2011 for the Nintendo DS. Radiant Historia was inspired by 16-bit classics like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI. It has beautiful sprites and one of the best stories in the last two generations of handheld systems.
Radiant Historia has a story about travelling through time, just like Chrono Trigger, but it goes a step further by having multiple timelines and stories that overlap.
Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth
