A few years ago, wrestling video games were all the rage. You don’t have to go back too far to see how many different video games were made around the sport. But that trend has died out over time. We are seeing fewer wrestling games come out, and it looks like we may go through a time when we don’t get many wrestling games at all. You may be used to seeing a new WWE 2K game come out every year, but WWE 2K20 may have made things worse.
There are a lot of bugs and glitches in WWE 2K20. Some of them have caused the game to crash for players. Online, people are saying that the WWE 2K games franchise has been put on hold for the next two years. This could make it possible to make a new WWE game, but as of right now, nothing is set in stone.
Also, a lot of fans are hoping that an AEW game will be released. Again, nothing has been confirmed as of yet, but it looks like AEW will keep fans informed about a possible video game release. In the meantime, if you want to play something fun, you could try one of these games that are available on current platforms.
The WWE games of the past few years have been simulations, so getting a different type of game in 2020 will be a nice change. With WWE Battlegrounds, players get a game that is almost like an arcade game and feels like some of the older brawler-style wrestling games. The cartoon graphics and the way the game is played are both simple. But sometimes being simple might not be what wrestling fans really want, as you can see when moves are copied and pasted from one character model to another.
If that doesn’t turn you off, you might like WWE Battlegrounds. You can choose from a lot of old and new wrestlers, and there is also a campaign mode. In the campaign mode, players are thrown into different matches that look like pages from a comic book. Most of the time, maps and characters, as well as other things, are at stake in these matches. At the time I’m writing this, there are some problems with the game, but nothing that shouldn’t be fixed by updates. The game’s microtransactions probably won’t get updated, and there are a lot of them to get through quickly.
WWE 2K16 is not the first game in the series to come out on consoles made in the last few years. This list doesn’t include WWE 2K15, which is the game in question. WWE 2K16 was made by Yuke’s, which had a lot of ways to improve the game. Thankfully, this version was a big step forward for the series. Even though WWE 2K16 was made for both new and old consoles, it still did a lot of great things. The game might not feel as smooth as the latest ones in the series, but that shouldn’t stop people from having a good time with it.
There are also some changes from WWE 2K15, like a new submission minigame where you move the joystick around in a circle instead of just pressing buttons. In the same way, you can only do a certain number of reversals. It makes it a bit harder to predict when you should use a reversal against your opponent in the future. But it’s important to note that you can turn off this feature and play the game without a limit.
Also in this part, there are a lot of wrestlers. You can still change a lot of things about the game. For example, you can make your own wrestler, entrance, moves, and other things. But the roster has more than a hundred different wrestlers for you to choose from. There are even different versions of wrestlers for different times. For example, there are different versions of The Rock for each year. To top it all off, the 2K Showcase gives Stone Cold fans a detailed look at Steve Austin’s career.
The base game of WWE 2K17 had a lot of things for fans to do. It was a nice little step up from WWE 2K16, but some fans may have been disappointed that there wasn’t a Showcase mode at first. The game did get a DLC that added a Hall of Fame Showcase with some memorable matches and superstars, but if you wanted something like the Stone Cold Steve Austin Showcase, you were out of luck. Even so, there is still a lot to like about this particular part.
Some changes were made to the game’s overall mechanics without taking too much time inside the game. During a match, players can face off against more than one opponent, and with the new manual targeting system, switching from one opponent to another feels natural. Even more changes were made to reversals, giving players a bigger window in which to trigger a big reversal.
You might even end up fighting backstage, which is a nice change of pace. These fights behind the scenes are also bigger, and players can go to different rooms to get weapons. The developers also spent a lot of time giving fans a lot of creative freedom, but the Promo Performance seemed a little unfinished. This is basically a minigame where players try to get a crowd excited by choosing certain phrases within a certain amount of time.
But the real gem here is again the detailed creation tools that let you make a unique wrestler and edit your own promo videos. We also can’t forget to talk about the Universe Mode, which gives you more control over how the different shows will go, including which Superstars will appear, which championships they will win, and even which PPVs they may wrestle in. In this small mode, you can spend a lot of time making shows that you would like to see.
Here’s the thing: if you liked WWE 2K17, you’ll like WWE 2K18 too. It looks the same and has the same features. So, the Showcase mode won’t be back. Instead, the developers still hoped that fans would like the Career mode or the Universe mode. Overall, the game feels about the same, and I think it’s just a hair better than WWE 2K17. The controls for fighting opponents haven’t changed much, but a new feature has been added that wasn’t in the last few games: you can now pick up an opponent in up to four different ways, walk them around the ring, and then slam them to the ground. It’s a small thing, but we’re sure fans were glad to see it added to this instalment.
You still have the Universe mode, which lets players control different custom shows, as was already said. So, the Promo Performance is back, and it’s still a half-baked feature, but the Career mode has gotten a small update. Now, players can walk around the training areas and talk to different wrestlers to get a feel for the character, get tips, change their outfit, take promotional photos, and do other little things.
On this roster, there are also a lot of different wrestlers. But if you don’t want to choose from more than 170 wrestlers on the roster, you can make your own character. We’ve seen all sorts of custom wrestlers, from ones that look like real people to ones that look like crazy fictional characters.
Fire Pro Wrestling World
We know you might be getting tired of hearing about the WWE 2K series over and over again, but there just aren’t that many wrestling-themed video games out there right now. Fire Pro Wrestling World, on the other hand, has been well received by fans and is a different game that can be added here. It’s not surprising if you haven’t heard of this series, since it’s been around since 1989 and was mostly only available in Japan until 2002, when Fire Pro Wrestling 2 came out in North America. Fire Pro Wrestling World, which came out in 2017 for PC and PlayStation 4, is the most recent game in the series.
Now, this is a big change from the WWE 2K series, and if you’re new to the game, it will take you some time to get used to how it works. Not only does the game look and play very differently from a high-budget WWE 2K series game, but it also has a differentștiintștiintiștiiștiinștiintștiintiștiintiiiiiștiinștiintii If you were hoping this would be the arcade-style wrestling game you wanted to play years ago, you’re out of luck yet again. Fire Pro Wrestling World, on the other hand, is a much more strategic game. It’s all about knowing when to hit, when to grab, and where to put your character.
There are a lot of different wrestlers to choose from, but they may not be as interesting or have as much history as WWE. Even though the game has simple graphics, you can make your own character if you don’t like any of the others. In the same way, there are exhibition matches and a mode called “campaign” that tells the kind of story you would expect. Players take on the role of a young wrestler who wants to become famous, and the story helps them get from one match to the next.
The next game is WWE 2K19. This game is a mix of the previous WWE 2K games. There are some improvements and small changes, but overall, it’s the same kind of experience. If you liked the other games in the series, you’re probably going to enjoy this one as well. You can still choose from a wide range of wrestlers and use the customization mode to make your own. Like we’ve said before, these games have given us a lot of amazing and unique characters.
The way the game works feels smooth, but the Payback System is a change. With this system, players will be able to unlock certain skills or attributes, such as getting a speed boost, a faster recovery time, or even more power when they hit. You can play in both the Universe mode and the My Career mode, which feels a lot better this time than it did in the past. The people who wrote the story for this game did a great job. Players take on the role of an amateur wrestler in the indie league and try to make it to the big leagues.
You can even go through tower modes where you have to face certain wrestlers or play matches with a certain set of rules. Even so, we’re glad to see Showcase back on TV. After a few years, the developers decided to bring back a feature that had been missed. This time, the Showcase is about Daniel Bryan, and it talks about his most important matches and a career highlight.
