9 Best Golf Games That You Should Know Update 04/2024

Best Golf Games

People who play games like Madden and NBA2K get all of the attention on their computers, but other games, like golf, get little attention.

Well, we’re not going to let this go any longer.

1. John Daly’s ProStroke Golf

John Daly's ProStroke Golf

John Daly has a golf game?

Give this game a try after the shock wears off. If you found this game in a bargain bin at your local electronics store, take a look at it.

ProStroke isn’t as good as EA Sports’ Tiger Woods games as a whole, but it does a good job with motion control and gives players a cool first-person view at address.

People who have the PlayStation Move and want to try out virtual links should check out Daly’s game. It has a little more feel than the TW series, but if you’re using a standard analog controller, there are better games out there.

2. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13

While Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 isn’t the best game in the series, it may have the most interesting game mode.

There is a big focus on the Tiger Legacy Challenge in TW 13. This gives players the chance to play at many important events in the golfer’s life.

Another feature of TW 13 is that it has more complex digital analog swing control. This means that more attention is paid to the timing, direction, and speed of the ball. This year, instead of in the past, players can control all aspects of a swing with the stick, which takes a little longer to learn but makes the game feel more like a real swing.

TW 13 may be important in the future when we look back on the series as it moves from being an arcade/sim hybrid to a full-fledged simulator. As the current generation of consoles gets older, the graphics won’t look as good as they did in the past.

3. CyberTiger

CyberTiger

You can play CyberTiger with real-life PGA players if you like Hot Shots and Mario Golf. This makes it one of the best golf games of all time.

Most people don’t know that CyberTiger was made and released by EA Sports just a year after the company released its first Tiger Woods game.

Let’s give CyberTiger credit for a lot of its features, like practice ranges and power boost shots. A few years later, the TW series also had these features, so let’s give CyberTiger credit for that.

In Battle Mode, two players fight to the death on the golf course. If only EA Sports had kept this mode, which pits two players against each other. We can only dream about it.

4. Hot Shots Golf Fore!

Hot Shots Golf is kind of like Mario Golf with a little more sass. As you can see in the video on the left, Hot Shots is one of the most fun arcade golf games out there, with backspin control that makes the ball look like it’s going for the pin.

Fore wasn’t the first game in the Hot Shots series to be made. It has the best graphics we’ve seen in the series, as well as more courses, characters, and online play that is so addictive.

We put Mario Golf above Hot Shots Golf Fore on this list because there’s something more fun about playing golf with Nintendo characters, but we wouldn’t argue if you wanted to play with Ratchet and Clank instead of Mario.

5. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12

There is no need to wait any longer for a modern-day Tiger Woods game to be talked about. In 2012, EA Sports made a big change to the series. It added an in-game caddy and Augusta National as a playable course.

It’s surprising that it took so long for game developers to add a feature as important as a caddy into the game, but EA’s first foray into this field is almost perfect. Caddy advice won’t always be right. But it gives players more options when they have to make a difficult layup or go for it on a par five.

Using the PlayStation Move or the Wii as a make-believe club is easier if you strap the controller on first.

Jim Nantz’s voice was added to the commentary in 2012. It’s enough.

6. Mario Golf

There have been two Mario Golf games that have been sold to people. The first Mario game, which came out in 1999 at the height of the Nintendo 64’s popularity, has the same bright colors and goofy animations that we’ve come to love from all Mario games. It’s also realistic enough for people who play golf.

Nintendo’s Mario Golf looks like a game for kids. But hardcore gamers can use complex slope measurements, variable camera angles, wind readings and velocity tracking, as well as one of the best alignment systems this side of Golden Tee.

If that didn’t convince you, did we tell you that most characters have their own in-game tournaments, with their own unique courses? This Bowser Star Championship doesn’t look like something you’d see on TV.

7. What The Golf?

What The Golf

What The Golf? is a game everyone should play, even if they don’t like golf. How does What The Golf? make it different from your typical golf game? It will surprise you at every hole. The game has wacky physics that make it fun to play. Expect to hit things that aren’t balls. For the record, this isn’t for people who want to play golf the same way every time. In this case, “everything is golf.” You can even make your own levels with the game’s level builder.

8. PGA Tour 2K21

Another golf game has come along recently that lived up to the hype. It has well-known golfers Sergio Garcia and Justin Thomas on it. The game has 2K Sports’ name on the cover, but it was all made by HB Studios. PGA Tour 2K21 was only made by 2K Sports.

In the end, PGA Tour 2K21 is a good choice if you’re looking for a new golf game with the best graphics and the best gameplay.

9. The Golf Club 2019 Featuring PGA Tour

The Golf Club 2019 Featuring PGA Tour

HB Studios has been a big name in video games about rugby, cricket, and golf. The developer’s best game is The Golf Club 2019 Featuring PGA Tour. Take part in tournaments like the FedEx Cup to improve your golfing skills.

To be one of the best golf games, the game needs to have a good career mode. As you build a unique golf character, sponsors and rewards will come your way.
