Are you stuck at home and need something to do? Gaming can be too tempting for people who want to get in shape this year. With Switch, it’s easy to mix your favourite hobby with a little cardiovascular exercise to get your heart rate up. This will help you stay healthy. Below, we’ve put together a list of the best Switch games for working out and getting fit.
As long as you eat a well-balanced diet and work out a lot, these games can help you get off the couch and feel great. There are a lot of games on the Nintendo Switch that are meant to help you get off the couch and feel great. As a result, there’s no need to skip a game session when you’re away from home. It’s so there are no more excuses now!
At any time of the year, the Nintendo Switch games below should get your heart rate up and help you get in shape, no matter what kind of game you play. So, grab your Joy-Cons and get moving for the best Switch games for exercise and fun that aren’t sitting down.
Ring Fit Adventure (Switch)
Nintendo’s new fitness game is better than Wii Fit at making exercise fun, but it didn’t go far enough. If you’re a gym addict, don’t throw out your membership card just yet. But if you want to get fit, Ring Fit Adventure is a great way to do it that won’t make you want to vomit. Play it right, and you’ll definitely feel it the next day, which is a good sign that it’s at least doing you some good. The RPG elements in the adventure mode will keep you coming back for more.
For the last few months, stock shortages have made it hard to find, but keep an eye out as Nintendo slowly starts to get more stock.
Fitness Boxing (Switch)
Fitness Boxing and its sequel (see below) are positioned as lifestyle apps – software to tide you over while you’re on holiday and can’t get to your Boxercise/Body Combat class. In that way, they’re easy, energetic successes that get your heart rate up. For the one-time price of a month’s gym membership, they deliver some light CV and takes pointers from the Just Dance series (and various rhythm games) to provide a convenient and engaging workout as you box to the beat. Hard work at the gym isn’t going to be replaced by this. There’s still a chance to tone up your arms and lose a few pounds, though.
Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise (Switch)
This game adds very little to the foundation of its predecessor, Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise. If you don’t already own the first game, it’s still a good alternative to Ring Fit Adventure, which is a much more intense workout. With its rhythm-based gameplay, Fitness Boxing is a very different game that might be better suited to your situation. The Ring-Con is a little difficult to put in your bag when you’re on the road. It would be a mistake to buy this thinking it was a game or a magical cure for your spare tyre. However, it kept us coming back for more, and if you’re looking for a reason to cancel your Gold’s direct debit, either one of the Fitness Boxings will get your heart rate up and keep you moving while you’re away from home.
Just Dance 2022 (Switch)
Just Dance is exactly what it says on the box. Just Dance 2022 isn’t going to win any awards for being new, but it’s another good version of the game with a good new song list. The best way to get the most out of your purchase is if you’re already a subscriber to Just Dance Unlimited. If you already own Just Dance 2021 (or 2022), Just Dance 2020 (or 2020), Just Dance 2019 (or 2018), or Just Dance 2017 (or 2017), it might not be worth it to buy this as well. A better experience points-based dance game isn’t available for people who haven’t played before. Grasp a Joy-Con, get down on the ground, and… you know what to do. It doesn’t get much better than jiggling around to chart-toppers with costumed dancers in the background.
Zumba Burn it Up! (Switch)
Zumba Burn It Up!, also known as Just Dance Without the Unnerving Bleached-Out Mannequins, is only available on the Nintendo Switch. It is very similar to the Just Dance games in that the Joy-Con track your moves as you follow the on-screen instructions. You dance with one of the game’s real-life instructors as you try to burn as many calories as possible, and you can do so with a partner in Fitness Party mode. You can also do this alone. Full Class mode has workouts that last anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes, so there’s a good chance you can burn some calories here. As with all the software on this list, you only get out what you put in, so the onus is on you to stay motivated. You can go ahead and grab those sweatpants and get down.
With its motion-controlled fights, ARMS is still a great way to work up a sweat. The core fighting mechanics are simple to understand, but they also show how much depth there is in the game that rewards players who work hard. Mixing light and charged punches with your dashes and leaps lets you play like you’re dancing. Add in grabs, stuns, and other unique features from each stage, and you’ve got a solid foundation for burning calories and toning up your arms.
Collecting all the different Arms gives you a reason to keep playing, and even though the game didn’t really catch on, at least not as much as Splatoon 2, it’s still polished, addicting, and very rewarding, so it’s worth getting.
Knockout Home Fitness
Using martial arts to get fit at home, Knockout Home Fitness combines short and intense calorie-burning exercises – think punches, elbows, knees and kicks – to get that quick but super effective full-body workout done. Their daily workouts take just 15 minutes. The exercises are made up of boxing, karate, kung-fu, and Muay Thai, and they can be done in that amount of time, too Just choose a pre-programmed routine in the personal training mode (there are four trainers to choose from including a friendly or strict one!) or complete the three-minute fitness mode to select any workout to suit your schedule. There’s also a “My Report” section where you can see how often and how long you worked out, how many calories you burned, and how many tasks you finished.
Mario Tennis Aces
Mario Tennis Aces is one of Nintendo’s best-known games. If you want to play tennis with your friends, you can only play with four people at a time. This game features more than 15 characters from the Mushroom Kingdom. There are swings, volleys, and smash shots that will help you work up a sweat and make you and your friends fight.
