AFK Arena 2022: The Best Gacha Game Alternatives (March)

Game developer Lilith Games created AFK Arena, an idle RPG. It was released in a restricted number of countries during the middle of 2018 as part of a “soft launch.”

Before the game’s global release in April 2019, Lilith took their time to build up excitement for the title. The Chinese game developer’s strategy paid off handsomely, as AFK Arena quickly became a worldwide sensation on both iOS and Android.

As far as I know, it was based on Idle Heroes, a popular game at the time. Lilith, on the other hand, took that game’s core concept and made significant enhancements to it. A large part of their work was also devoted to world-building and ensuring that each hero had a distinct background, complete with original artwork and voiceovers.

1. Combat

Turn-based or “Dynamic” combat? Idle game combat will be described using these words. When it comes to idle games, I’m stumped as to the technical terminology for these things.

AFK Arena is a dynamic arena, where all of the heroes move around and attack each other. An interesting RNG is created as a result.

It’s a turn-based system, like Idle heroes, where the heroes sit in one area and attack random adversaries in turn.

2. Best Games Like AFK Arena

As a result of the game’s success, many new players have been introduced to the idle genre. There are a lot of great games like AFK Arena out there for you to play.

We’ll be adding new games to this list on a regular basis.

3. Mythic Heroes

To mimic AFK Arena but to add more quality of life features, Mythic Heroes was published this month. Hero characters move about the battlefield independently, similar to AFK Arena’s dynamic fighting.

AFK Arena’s championship is currently up for grabs in the idle-game stakes. The visuals and animations are excellent, and each character has a distinct narrative. Playing the games has been a lot of fun so far.

The “Astrolabe” AFK mechanic, on the other hand, is more intriguing because it isn’t related to narrative progression.

You just need one duplicate of a hero to rise to the top of the ranks.

Affectionately referred to as “AFK Arena,” the game’s graphical style is inspired on Greek mythology.

It’s free to play for the time being. Although there are currently no “unique” factions in the game, this could change in the future.

Visit the App Store or Google Play to get it.

4. Valor Legends: Eternity

Valor Legends is yet another newcomer to the gaming scene. The game’s visuals are stunning thus far. Art and animations are excellent, and the gameplay is as exciting as AFK Arena.

5. Undead World: Heroes Survival

In addition to Undead World, a new idle game, it’s actually rather enjoyable to play. Battles with large groups of zombies look fantastic and have a more 3D feel than when they’re fought from the side.

As far as I can tell, the devs don’t communicate with the audience much outside of Facebook updates. There is no official Discord at this time. As far as mobile games are concerned, that raises a little bit of a red signal for me. However, this is readily remedied.
