7 Best Virtual Console Games Wii That You Should Know Update 03/2024

Best Virtual Console Games Wii

In fact, you don’t always need to go to a store to get good games for the Nintendo Wii. Virtual Console shop has a lot of games that can be played for a long time. Many old games for systems like the original NES, TurboGrafx-16, and Genesis can be found here. For just a few Nintendo Points, you can download a classic like Super Mario Bros. or Donkey Kong and relive some of gaming’s best moments from the past, like when Donkey Kong came to the home. With so many games available on so many different systems, there is a game for everyone, no matter what kind of game they like. There are adventure games, action games, and shooters.

Virtual Console games are fun to look through, but they can be a little overwhelming for people who have never played some of them before. The Virtual Console shop doesn’t have any reviews of these games either. Before you spend your Nintendo Points (which soon turn into real money if you download a lot of games), check out our guide. For many of the systems in the Virtual Console shop, we pick out the best of the best. This way, you save money and time. After all, if you spend a lot of time in the Virtual Console shop, you won’t be able to play Super Mario World.

Super Mario Bros. 3

Super Mario Bros. 3

Publisher: Nintendo

Original Release Date: 1990

Price: 500 points

17.2 million people can’t be wrong. How many copies of Super Mario Bros. 3 Nintendo has sold since its 1990 launch, making it the best non-bundled video game in history? This game deserves all of the praise it gets, as well as its place on “best of” lists, like IGN’s own Top 100 Games, because of its brilliant platforming and clever exploration. Mario is back in the Mushroom Kingdom, hopping and bopping on Koopas and Goombas, trying to get Peach out of Bowser’s hands. It’s true that that’s the story of the first game, but the level design in this one is both great and epic, with a lot of fun things to find around every virtual corner.

Legend of Zelda

Publisher: Nintendo

Original Release Date: 1987

Price: 500 points

This is one of Nintendo’s longest-running series, and you can find out why by downloading the very first game. In this game, you go on a journey through the land of Hyrule. You’ll fight monsters and find treasures like the fabled Triforce, but it doesn’t have the slow pace of traditional role-playing games (RPGs) that turns off so many people. For one thing, you can save your game at any time in the Virtual Console version of Zelda, which makes it possible for anyone to play the game without having to set aside a whole weekend. If you did, you could not be blamed.

Punch-Out!!

Punch-Out

Publisher: Nintendo

Original Release Date: 1987

Price: 500 points

Nintendo has just released a new Punch-Out!! for the Wii that is very similar to the original NES game. This boxer plays a game where you have to act and react to what your opponents say in the ring. You have to pay attention to the cues and clues they give you. Throw a powerful uppercut at the likes of King Hippo and Von Kaiser. Virtual Console Punch-Out!! is not a Mike Tyson edition of the game, though. If you want to fight an 8-bit Iron Mike, you’ll have to look somewhere else for a game. Look for an original cart at a garage sale instead of going to a store. “Featuring Mr. Dream” was added after Nintendo’s licencing deal with Tyson came to an end. Regardless, it’s still a great game.

Adventures of Lolo

Publisher: HAL

Original Release Date: 1989

Price: 500 points

Earlier this month, Nintendo released a new version of Punch-Out!! for the Wii. The game is very similar to the original on the NES. This boxer plays a game where you have to act and react to what your opponents say in the ring. You have to pay attention to the cues and clues that they give you. Rather than taking the punches that come your way, move quickly and come back with a powerful uppercut that will knock out King Hippo and Von Kaiser. Virtual Console Punch-Out!! is not a Mike Tyson edition of the game, though. If you want to fight an 8-bit Iron Mike, you’ll have to look elsewhere, though. Rather than go to the garage sale, look for an original cart there. Following the end of Nintendo’s licencing deal with Tyson, the “Featuring Mr. Dream” version was made. As it stands, it’s still a great play.

Adventures of Lolo

Adventures of Lolo

Publisher: HAL

Original Release Date: 1989

Price: 500 points

It wasn’t hard to find cute little heroes on the NES, but Lolo might be the cutest one of them all. This blue ball with googly eyes has to find treasure on each floor of a castle to save his girlfriend, Lala. Monsters like medusa heads and snakes try to stop Lolo, but if you use your brain to get the treasures in the right order, Lolo will be able to get to the top of the tower and rescue his love. If you like action-puzzle games, this one is for you. You’ll play for hours, and you’ll be humming its theme music even after you turn off your Wii.

Dracula X: Rondo of Blood

Turbo CD | Konami

You can buy Dracula X on other VC services, but that’s the Super NES game that’s a little bit like this classic. If you want to play the original Dracula X game, which has some of the best Castlevania action ever made in binary code, you either need to get it here or unlock it on the PSP’s Dracula X Chronicles game. Looks and plays better than the other one. Get it before it’s gone. If you want to be like everyone else, you need to have this. It’s one of the best.

The Dynastic Hero

The Dynastic Hero

Turbo CD | Hudson/Konami

A lot of people call it Monster World III, which makes it the next game after The Dragon’s Trap (which you may have played on Switch or PS4 recently). The Turbo CD version of Wonder Boy III is very rare and expensive in its original form, so I think this release is worth getting just for the novelty of owning the most expensive version of the game for a cheap price.
