Almost 10 years after the eighth generation of video game consoles came out, they’re coming to the end of their lives. Gamers are going to be very excited about the news that PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are coming out soon, so that makes sense.
The PlayStation 4 has given me endless hours of fun and a way to forget about the problems in my daily life.
I can’t help but feel nostalgic when I think about all the great times I had with this console. Because of this, I think it’s a good idea to go back in time and look at the best-selling PS4 games of all time.
Horizon: Zero Dawn
Horizon: Zero Dawn is an action role-playing game made by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It’s a lot of fun. The story is about Aloy, a brave machine huntress who wants to find out more about her mysterious past and origins. At some point during her journey, Aloy finds herself in a world where there are machines that look like animals. They want to kill her at all costs.
People who play the game must help Aloy reach her goal with help from many different tools. As a result of getting almost perfect scores from Metacritic (89%), 8/10 from GameSpot, and 9.3 from IGN, Horizon: Zero Dawn was one of the best-selling games for the PlayStation 4. It also won a few awards.
Horizon’s world-building and interesting story are two of the most talked about things about the game. You’ll be hooked until the very end.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
In the third game in the Witcher series, CD Projekt Red made a great action role-playing game with a lot of fantasy and Slavic mythology in it. Players follow Geralt of Rivia through an open world from a third-person point of view as he goes through the world. As he flees the Wild Hunt, Geralt is looking for his adopted daughter while trying to find her. He is a “Witcher.”
During fights, weapons and magic can be used, and non-player characters can be talked to. To get gold experience points, you must complete quests and meet other people. This means that Geralt’s abilities can be boosted, and more equipment can be bought, giving the player a lot of control over how Geralt looks and acts in the game.
It’s possible to finish the main storyline in a number of ways, which gives the player different endings based on what they do. Because of this, The Witcher 3 has a lot of replay value, which makes it very interesting.
The Witcher 3 is thought to be one of the best games ever made. Metacritic gave it a score of 93, IGN gave it a score of 9.3, and GameSpot gave it a score of 10.
Our list of the best-selling PS4 games should come as no surprise to anyone. FIFA has a game on the list. After all, the soccer game is a big hit with both gamers and sports fans. The game was an instant hit because it was the 25th instalment in the FIFA video game series and Cristiano Ronaldo was wearing his famous Real Madrid uniform. People didn’t even have to think about how the game worked.
Besides the fact that 2018 was the FIFA World Cup year, another thing that helped make this game more popular was that commemorative alternate covers were also made for the game.
Compared to other FIFA games, FIFA 18 had a story mode and the Frostbite 3 engine, which made it possible for people to play on different platforms at the same time.
FIFA 18 had a lot to offer football fans. It had 52 fully licenced stadiums from 12 different countries, 30 generic fields, new goal celebrations, different tiers for national leagues, and more teams. A lot of the important platforms had average scores of 80+ for the game.
God of War
If the “2018 Game of the Year” is one of the best-selling PS4 games of all time, it makes sense that it would be on this list. God of War is a video game that combines action and adventure. It was made by Santa Monica Studio and released by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It’s the eighth game in the God of War series, and it’s different because it’s based on Norse mythology.
However, most of the game takes place in Midgard, which is a land in ancient Norway. This land is called Midgard. For the first time, God of War 2018 has two main characters: Kratos, who was first seen in the Greek God of War, and his young son, Atreus. They are both played by the same person. The story takes place after Kratos’ second wife and Atreus’ mother die. Both survivors want to fulfil the last wish of her ashes to be spread at the top of the nine realms.
Kratos has a hard time keeping his troubled past from Atreus, but he also has a hard time hiding his and his son’s divine nature. They meet a few monsters and gods from the Norse world on their way to honour their loved one.
God of War was praised by everyone who played the game and by game critics. Many people said that the world design, narrative, characters, music, and overall experience were all great.
Marvel’s Spider-Man is a game that combines action and adventure. It was made by Insomniac Games and released by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Even before it came out, the game was getting a lot of attention from Marvel fans and gamers. The game is played from a third-person point of view, and it shows Peter Parker as a normal person and as Spider-Man at the same time.
It’s Mister Negative, a well-known crime boss, who wants to take over the criminal underworld of New York City by releasing a virus that is very dangerous.
The game mostly focuses on Peter Parker as Spider-Man, but the player can roam New York City, interact with people, do missions, and get new suits and gadgets. Additional content and collectibles can also be found to make the game even more fun.
Marvel’s Spider-Man was praised for its characters, web-swinging mechanics, narrative, combat style, and open-world style. It is now thought to be one of the best superheroes ever made, and one of the best games for the PlayStation 4. Is this a surprise to anyone? Most of the reviews are 9/10’s.
Call of Duty: WWII
In our list of the best-selling PS4 games of all time, there are not just one but two first-person shooter games in it, which makes sense. It was made by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision. Call of Duty: World War II is the first game on the list. The game’s campaign mode shows how the 1st Infantry Division fought on the Western Front and how Operation Overload happened in real life.
Playing as Ronald “Red” Daniels, gamers must work together with their team to reach all of their goals. Also, WWII has a multiplayer experience with unique maps and modes. If you play Call of Duty with your friends, it’s a favourite. Even though this was the fourteenth game in the Call of Duty series, people were very excited about it before it came out and very happy when it came out.
Call of Duty: WWII was mostly well-received when it came out. Most people were happy to see the series return to its WWII roots. Because CoD: WWII is one of the best-selling PS4 games ever, it also made the most money in North America in 2017.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
For the second time, Naughty Dog made it on this list. This time, they made a game that was only for the Playstation 4. After four games as the main character, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is said to have finished Nathan Drake’s story.
He thought his brother Sam was dead. He came back to convince Drake to find the treasure of Henry Avery because if he didn’t, his brother would be killed. It is the best-selling PS4 game. It comes in second.
Grand Theft Auto V
It was a game that came out before the PlayStation 4 came out. The remastered version of Grand Theft Auto V blew the doors off any other game that was made for the PlayStation 4. The game had better graphics and a first-person mode.
People could play as three people instead of just one in this game. If you played the single-player campaign in Grand Theft Auto, it was a big deal. The multiplayer mode called Grand Theft Auto Online is what keeps the game alive today.
