10 Best Anime Like Hellsing That You Should Watching Update 03/2024

Anime Like Hellsing

From beginning to end, Hellsing is an exhilarating experience. Looking for something similar? Here are some recommended reads.

To rid Cheddar of its vampires, a hidden group known as Hellsing is at work. Alucard and Seras Victoria are the two protagonists in this vampire-themed anime. Meanwhile, Seras Victoria takes control of her father’s vampire-eradicating group, “Hellsing,” while Alucard fights with a revolver as his primary weapon.

During the ensuing turmoil, Seras Victoria suffers a fatal injury. Hellsing provides the girl the option of becoming a vampire instead of allowing her to die. It should come as no surprise that Seras chooses to join Hellsing and begins her new life as one of its members. Both Seras’ and Alucard’s narrative arcs take a fresh turn.

Gore, Horror, Vampires, and thrillers are Hellsing’s primary topics. It’s not the only anime that falls under this category, but it’s one of the best in the genre. It’s all here:

10 DEVILMAN CRYBABY (JANUARY 2018)

Devilman Crybaby

Akira Fudou, a naive cry baby, is the protagonist of Devilman Crybaby. While on a Sabbath with Ryou, his best friend, Ryou claims to be doing research on Satan, and brings him along. When demons take over the revelers on the Sabbath, everything goes awry. An exhausted Akira joins forces with the devil Amon to become the Devilman.

While still a crybaby at heart, Akira joins forces with Ryou to fight the demons who took his innocence from him in the first place.

9 DRIFTERS (OCTOBER 2016- DECEMBER 2016)

During the Battle of Sekigahara in 1600, Toyohisa Shimazu, a rearguard, gets mortally wounded. Murasaki pulls him into a hallway moments before he dies. Meanwhile, Toyohisa is made aware of the Orte Empire’s role in the political instability.

As part of an organization known as “Drifters,” Toyohisa is tasked with defeating the warring “Ends.” Righteous Drifters are at battle with the Means of freedom. Drifters, like Hellsing, is about a group that fights against the wrongdoers, however vamps are noticeably absent from this story.

8 TRIGUN (APRIL 1998- SEPTEMBER 1998)

Trigun

Is a man with a $60,000,000,000 reward on his head referred to as? Humanoid Typhoon Meet the anime’s main character, Vash, a former assassin turned vigilante. Even those who dared to look him in the eye, never mind those who dared to revolt, were exterminated by him.

Vash, on the other hand, is now a donut-loving goofball, so there’s a lot of history to go over. In addition to two of his insurance agents, he takes a trip to Planet of Gunsmoke. On the other hand, Trigunis talks about his battles with morality and staying on top of the game. It’s the most reminiscent of Hellsing because of the comparable character arcs and outcomes.

7 CLAYMORE (APRIL 2007- SEPTEMBER 2007)

Claymore and Hellsing share a central theme: the annihilation of demons. Youma, the flesh-eating monster, is on the prowl for Clare, the village defender, who is determined to put up a fight. Claymore is the name given to Clare’s half-human, half-youma form. On the other hand, you can find Youma, an immortal demon with a hunger for human flesh.

As the plot unfolds, we learn that after losing his family to the cannibal monster, Raki decides to follow in Claymore’s footsteps. Clare and Youma are getting closer to a showdown as each village is cleared of demons. Let yourself fall in love with the realm of demons and their defenders by watching this!

6 BLADE (JULY 2011- SEPTEMBER 2011)

BLADE (JULY 2011- SEPTEMBER 2011)

Blade tells the story of a guy named Blade, a Daywalker— a vampire with human blood mixed in-between. Blade’s birth defect was caused by a previous vampire attack on his mother. There’s nothing new about Blade’s quest for vengeance against the vampire who attacked his mother; it’s a classic.

Deacon Frost, Blade’s mother’s assailant, is on the loose in Japan, where he finds the perfect opportunity to track him down. It’s not a simple chore to find him, so Blade hires the services of an organization called “Existence” to assist him.

5 BLACK LAGOON (APRIL 2006- JUNE 2006)

This is the furthest away from Hellsing of the bunch, as there isn’t anything supernatural going on. Hellsing, on the other hand, has plenty of blood and gore to satisfy your appetite. A businessman named Rokurou Okajima is profiled in the film Black Lagoon. While on a business trip that doesn’t go according to plan, he becomes ill.

Black Lagoon, a group of mercenaries, has caught Rokurou and is using him as fish bait. As things go south for the operation, Rokurou snaps and chooses to stick it out with Black Lagoon.

It’s possible that morals, ethics, and the idea of right and wrong play a larger role in Black Lagoon than simply surviving the ordeal.

4 BLOOD+ (OCTOBER 2005- SEPTEMBER 2006)

Blood Lad

Otonashi Saya, the film’s star, sees a lot of blood and gore in Blood+, as the title suggests. A young woman and her henchmen, based on a similar post-apocalyptic premise, murder vulnerable commoners. The story is told from the perspective of a young girl named Saya. All of this, however, is done in retrospect.

After a year, Saya has completely forgotten about the war. As long as she doesn’t get kidnapped, she’s fine. As the classic horror narrative would have it, Saya is saved from of blue by a man named Haji, who genes off the thing. However, in the next moments that ensue, Haji forces her to swallow his blood, citing it to be the only means of combating the demons. And so it goes.

Both Saya and Haji are on a mission to defeat these creatures in a similar vein to Hellsing. They’re also members of a group with a similar mission.

3 TRINITY BLOOD (APRIL 2005- OCTOBER 2005)

Trinity Blood takes place in a post-Armageddon world. Further devastation is being caused by the ongoing battle between vampires and humanity. Even though the Vatican church is the sole guardian of mankind, it must occasionally call on its allies for assistance. Abel Nightroad, the central character, is a devoted Vatican priest. As it turns out, Abel is also a Crusnik, which feeds on the blood of other vampires, which gives the plot a slight twist.

Hellsing and Trinity Blood share many similarities. The main character is a vampire who meets a young girl throughout the course of the story (Esther in this case). As a team, Abel and Esther set out to find their own way while fending off the forces of evil.

2 DEVIL MAY CRY (JUNE 2007- SEPTEMBER 2007)

DEVIL MAY CRY (JUNE 2007- SEPTEMBER 2007)

Based on the video game of the same name, Devil May Cry is a film adaptation. Anime Dante follows the narrative of Dante, a half human, half demon who is dedicated to eradicating demons from the human world. As the head of the ‘Devil May Cry’ organization, Dante works to rid the world of demons that pose a threat to society. Dante conducts his assassinations with the help of two firearms named Ebony and Ivory.

Many parallels may be drawn between Dante and Hellsing, such as the use of a sword and rifle by both characters. Fantasy, demons, and gore are all genres that have similarities. Similar to Hellsing, Devil May Cry depicts the story of a multifaceted protagonist.

1 BLACK BUTLER (OCTOBER 2008- MARCH 2009)

In order to get one’s vengeance, one must sell one’s soul to the devil. Ciel Phantomhive, the protagonist, is referred to as “the Queen’s Guard Dog.” Because of Ciel’s Bulter Sebastian Michaelis, she can keep her kingdom on solid ground. That’s not all there is to the narrative, though. An untold story of revenge is buried deep in Ceil’s background. Ciel loses everyone he cares about as a child. The devil gets his revenge by having him sell his soul. Thus, Ceil Phantomhive is a soulless young man who controls ‘Phantomhive Corp.’ and uses it to carry out his revenge schemes.

Demons, Supernatural has an underlying theme similar to Hellsing. However, there’s an added bonus: Black Butler can be a bit of a hoot at times.
