It’s not hard for older anime characters to prove that they’re still as good as they were when they were just a bunch of teenagers.

A talented young genius will always come to mind when someone mentions anime to someone else. There are usually youthful heroes in anime because it’s intended at a younger audience. To explain a story about them, the protagonists must have great powers.

However, not all of the anime industry’s most powerful figures are just out of high school. Some characters have been around for a long time, even decades. Since before the protagonist even lived, they’ve been annihilating anybody who stands in their way. To prove that they’re still as good at what they used to be isn’t an issue for them at all.

1. Bang Is An S-Class Hero With Master Martial Arts Skills (One-Punch Man)

Bang, also known as Silver Fang, is one of the Hero Association’s most formidable S-Class heroes. Even though he doesn’t have a plethora of outrageous superpowers, he is a great martial artist. Even after several advancements, Bang’s speed and strength still place him ahead of Genos, since Bang has easily defeated foes that Genos couldn’t keep up with.

Only Bang’s brother Bomb, with whom he studied and acquired many of his martial arts skills, appears to be able to keep up with his powers.

2. Master Roshi Blew Up The Moon (Dragon Ball Z)

One of the greatest martial artists of all time was Master Roshi at one point. Mastering the Kamehameha method to the point where he could use it to put out a raging fire was the goal of his martial arts training at the Turtle School.

Roshi was able to defeat Goku in hand-to-hand fighting even after spending months preparing his smartest student. For the first time in years, he’s demonstrated his mastery of Hawaii’s legendary Kamehameha wave by destroying the moon.

3. Hiko Seijuro Is The True Master Of Hiten Mitsurugi Style (Rurouni Kenshin)

Hiko Seijuro, the man who taught the Hiten Mitsurugi style to Kenshin Himura, is still the strongest individual in the Kenshin cosmopolitan community. The Hiten Mitsurugi Style, despite Kenshin’s training, is not meant to be employed by a little person like Kenshin. Hiko’s size and strength are required to do this.

His talents wane as he gets older because of this, and he can’t keep up the intensity of his powers forever. Meanwhile, Hiko is as powerful today as he was the day he trained Kenshin, and now that Kenshin has defeated everyone else on the show, Hiko is the strongest.

4. Hiruzen Sarutobi Trained The Three Sannin (Naruto)

At the beginning of Naruto, the Third Hokage was viewed as a gentle elderly man, but don’t despise him. He was formerly referred to as the god of shinobi because of his ninjutsu prowess. A Hokage who had trained all three Sannin was one of the strongest ever to exist.

It was only because Hiruzen had aged so much and Orochimaru had kept his body young using so many forbidden skills that they were able to match one other.

5. Zeno Zoldyck Is A Master Of Emitter Energy (Hunter x Hunter)

Zuzo Zoldyck is the father of Silva Zoldyck, and he has spent many years honing his abilities. It didn’t take long for him to demolish the Chimera Ants’ base with his Dragon Dive technique because of his transmutation powers.

He can also shoot energy blasts from his hands, turning him into a sort of Hunter x Hunter version of a Dragon Ball character. Hunter x Hunter has never tested him to the limit, and he’s never had to put himself in jeopardy by going up against the best.

6. Yamamoto Genryusai Founded The Gotei 13 (Bleach)

Captain of the Gotei 13’s 1st Division, Yamamoto Genryusai’s rumors are real. He was responsible for the creation of the entire Gotei 13, having honed the skills of some of the most skilled Soul Reapers. Despite his age, he has excellent swordsmanship and strength, and he’s even a shunpo master.

The main problem with Yamamoto is that he never appears to be powerful because people only ever confront him when they have discovered out how to completely shut off his skills.

The Ryozanpaku dojo’s head instructor is Hayato Furinji. It is said that Kenichi is the master of all known martial arts styles and is so gifted that he can replicate any technique he has ever seen.

Furinji restrains the most of his abilities in order to avoid causing harm to anyone else. The more seriously he takes fighting, the stronger and faster Furinji becomes. He can move so swiftly that only a high-speed camera can keep up with his every move.

8. Makarov Has Mastered The Three Fairy Magics (Fairy Tail)

For many years, Makarov Dreyar has taken care of all the Fairy Tail members. A powerful mage, he is able to transform into a gigantic monster anytime he needs to take on an opponent. It’s not often that he engages in combat, but as the series has demonstrated, he isn’t afraid to morph and battle when the time comes.

All three of the Three Great Fairy Magics are under his command. In particular, he is well-known for his usage of Fairy Law, a spell that targets anybody the user does not regard as a friendly companion.

Just like Yusuke Urameshi, Genkai worked as a Spirit Detective. After Toguro went off the rails, she became a recluse and refused to communicate with anyone. When she first met Yusuke, she recognized enough potential in him to want to put in the time and effort necessary to assist him overcome his greatest weakness: his tendency to be distant and careless.

Only until she sacrificed much of her ki to Yusuke in order for him to match Toguro’s strength during the Dark Tournament could he compete with the latter in the finals.

10. Kaguya Otsutsuki Can Absorb Any Ninjutsu Used On Her (Naruto)

In the Naruto universe, no one can compare to Kaguya in terms of strength. Basically, she’s a deity. This extraterrestrial being has the ability to fly through space unaided, wipe people’s brains clean, and absorb any and all ninjutsu that is thrown her way. The power of her chakra is nearly boundless, and she can use strong shockwaves to knock out her opponents. Even when her sons were at their finest, they couldn’t compare to her.

To use her jutsu, Kaguya does not require chakra, which means she is not playing by the same set of rules as her other opponents.
