1. She’s All That (1999)
She’s All That is a story about a prom king and queen who must run for office to maintain their star status.
Taylor Vaughan, the equally attractive and extremely popular prom queen who dated Zack Siler over spring break, dumps him for a second-hand world reject TV soap star. After being publicly dumped, Zack tries to make himself feel better by claiming that Taylor is all about the make-up and the wonder bra, and that he can turn any ordinary girl into a prom queen with a similar package.
After making this statement, Dean Sampson, one of Zack’s high school friends, challenges him to a bet and selects geeky-looking Laney Boggs from the crowd to be the new prom queen. Zack is forced to agree because he has no other choice, but as time passes and Laney’s transformation continues, Zack grows to like her. Even though everything comes together perfectly, this isn’t your typical fairy tale.
2. Pretty In Pink (1986)
Andie, a high school sophomore, is an outcast. She usually spends time with Iona or Duckie, two of her best friends. Even though Duckie has always had a thing for her, she’s recently started dating Blane, who has a crush on her as well. His wealth and fame make him a popular figure, but will he be able to bring his two worlds together?
3. Not Another Teen Movie (2001)
Every adolescent movie ever made features students from John Hughes High School. Famous jock Jake accepts a bet from cocky blonde Austin that he will be able to turn pretty ugly Janey into the prom queen in time for their big night out. Priscilla, the bitchy cheerleader, and Jake’s evil sister Catherine, the cruelest student in the school, are the only ones working to keep him from succeeding.
And all of their friends are the same as in any other teen film: naked foreign exchange student Areola, beautiful weirdo Les, token black guy Malik, desperate virgins Amanda Becker, the perfect girl Ricky, Janey’s obsessive best friend Sadie, and the VERY old undercover reporter Sadie are just a few examples.
4. Never Been Kissed (1999)
Aspiring reporter-turned-Chicago Sun Times copy editor Josie Gellar (25) gets her chance when the owner of a goody store asks her to go undercover and report on the high-school scene for the paper.
Rob Geller, her college dropout brother and all-around funny guy, gives his nerdy sister Josie a makeover. Both brothers and sisters rediscover the love and elation of their youth. Sam Coulson, a sensitive bachelor teacher, strikes up a sophisticated conversation with Josie instead. As the deadline for publication approaches, the cost of blowing their cover appears ever more daunting, but it is unavoidable unless she gives up her career as a means of survival.
5. Grease (1978)
A 1950s teen love story musical! Grease artist Danny Zuko and Australian Sandy Olsson fall in love in 1959 Los Angeles. They go to the beach, and when they return to school, they have no idea that they are now both students at Rydell High.
Sandy hangs out with the Pink Ladies, a group of pink-clad girls led by Rizzo, while Danny is the leader of the T-Birds, a group of greasers in black leather jackets. Dan doesn’t seem like the same Danny from the beach when they meet up at Rydell’s first pep rally. Because they want to be with each other, they try hard to be just like one another.
6. Can’t Buy Me Love (1987)
A frustrated Ronald Miller strikes a deal with one of the school’s most popular girls in order to join the “cool” crowd. He offers her $1,000 to pose as his girlfriend for a month in exchange for her help. Even if it’s a success, he’ll soon find out that fame comes with a price.
7. American Graffiti (1973)
Summer 1962 has come to an end in a small town in southern California. It’s the night before Curt Henderson and Steve Bolander, two best friends who just graduated high school, are set to leave town for college back in the east. Curt, who won a prestigious local scholarship, is hailed as the class’s brightest future prospect.
Curt, on the other hand, is second-guessing Steve’s decision to leave their small town. A T-bird passenger mouths the words “I love you” to Curt, reinforcing his faith in the existence of a supernatural being. Curt may make a decision about his immediate future as he searches for the blonde while evading a local gang that has him as a hostage.
Steve, the outgoing class president, on the other hand, is eager to leave despite the fact that doing so means saying goodbye to his girlfriend, head cheerleader, and Curt’s sister, Laurie Henderson. As Steve and Laurie wind down for the night, they “negotiate” the status of their relationship. While they’re out, two of their pals go out for the evening and have a little fun. As for Steve, he has entrusted Terry “Toad” Fields with the care of his car while he is away.
Because of this newfound confidence, Toad sets out to win over a more experienced girl like Debbie Dunham, who is generally out of his league. A precocious preteen named Carol Morrison, who has somehow found her way into John Milner’s car, is trying to get rid of the street race champion’s flamboyant yellow deuce coupe.
8. Drillbit Taylor (2008)
Bob ‘Drillbit’ Taylor, a homeless veteran, manages to have a good time despite his circumstances, and he even saves money for his long-term goal of moving to Alaska with no debt.
When new students Wade, Ryan ‘T-dog,’ and Jim, the cocky shrimp, are bullied so badly by emancipated Filkins and his buddies that they advertise for a bodyguard, his dream becomes a reality.
So they hire Drillbit, the only one who appears affordable and not completely insane, and let him go to town on their pocket money and personal belongings. He doesn’t know how to protect them, so he teaches them (false) self-defense techniques instead of protecting them.
9. A Walk To Remember (2002)
In Beaufort, North Carolina, a joke on a guy goes horribly wrong, landing the student in the emergency room. Famous student Carter, who has no plans for the future, is held responsible and made to participate in after-school community service activities as a result, which include playing the lead role in the play..
Involved in all of this is Jamie Sullivan, the reverend’s daughter, who shares nothing with Landon but high aspirations. He asks Jamie for help and starts spending most of his time with her when Landon decides that his activities should be taken seriously. However, he finds himself warming up to her in ways he had not anticipated.
To the dismay of Jamie’s strict reverend father and Landon’s longtime popular friends, they’ve developed a romance. As their relationship is put to the test by a heartbreaking secret, Landon and Jamie discover what true love and fate are all about.
10. 21 Jump Street (2012)
Jenko (‘Channing Tatum’ (qv)) was the popular jock at Schmidt’s high school, while Schmidt was the dorky new kid (‘Jonah Hill’ (qv)). Once they graduated from college, they both joined the police department and became friends while riding their bikes in the city park.
They’re assigned to an undercover unit to infiltrate a drug ring that sells synthetic drugs to high school students because they’re young and look like they’re in their 20s.
11. The Princess Diaries (2001)
It’s easy to forget about Mia Thermopolis, a typical adolescent who is sweet, nerdy, and largely unnoticed by anyone except her mother, best friend Lilly, and Michael, Lilly’s older brother.
It’s hard enough for Mia to get through high school without throwing up, so when her long-lost grandmother appears out of nowhere and tells her she’s the heir apparent to the throne of Genovia, it’s not exactly welcome news. Mia’s life is suddenly turned upside down.
For her to become a perfect princess, she learns about scarves, waves, and pears, and she also gets a makeover and a bodyguard/limo driver named Joe, who happens to be tough but sweet. Everything goes to hell when the press gets wind of the story and Mia finds herself on the front page of every newspaper and in the spotlight at school. Furthermore, Mia is confronted with a decision.
Her father and grandmother want her to be a princess and an heir to the throne, and she has until Genovia’s Independence Day Ball to make up her mind.
12. Ghost World (2001)
What happens to Enid and Rebecca after they graduate from high school is the subject of this novel. Both have a hard time connecting with others, so they spend their free time hanging out with creeps. Enid’s life will be changed forever when she meets Seymour, a social outcast who enjoys collecting vintage 78s.
13. Election (1999)
This year’s high school student election features Tracy Flick running unopposed. However, Jim McAllister, the civics teacher at the school, has a different idea. Some of Jim’s motivation for talking popular varsity football player Paul Metzler into running for president stems from his personal animosity toward Tracy. The result is an absolute mess.
14. Fast Times At Ridgemont High (1982)
Based on Cameron Crowe’s personal journal, the film follows a group of teenagers as they navigate their way through high school in Southern California.
Linda Barrett and Mike Damone, two senior high school students, help Stacy Hamilton and Mark Ratner find a romantic partner. With Jeff Spicoli as its protagonist, the film follows him as he battles with Mr. Hand, a man who believes that everyone in the world is high.
15. I Love You, Beth Cooper (2009)
He urges Dennis Cooverman to let it all out when it comes time for his commencement speech at college graduation. As a result, he professes his love for the school’s head cheerleader, Beth Cooper, and says disparaging things about the rest of the graduating class and others.
When Beth confronts him later, he invites her to his house for a graduation party as a result of the confrontation. Unexpectedly, she arrives with two of her friends. However, there are those who believe he offended them with his remarks and are determined to destroy him.
The other is Beth’s ex-boyfriend, with whom she recently broke up. As a result, they pile into Beth’s car and take off. And from there, it’s all out of control.

As a result of Dizzy’s efforts, the school football team gains self-respect and wins more games. When Danielle’s enraged boyfriend starts digging into “Gil Harris'” past to see if there’s anything he can find out about him, things start to go south.

20. Cursed (2005)
Since their parents’ deaths, Ellie has been caring for her younger brother Jimmy. The following night, while driving home from a party, they get into a collision on Mullholland Drive and lose him. An unknown creature attacks and kills the woman they are trying to rescue from the other car, injuring Ellie and Jimmy as well. After some investigation, Jimmy has come to the conclusion that the creature was a werewolf.
21. Show Me Love (1998)
Amal is a sleepy town where nothing ever happens and the latest fashions are already out of date by the time they arrive. When it comes to men, Elin’s reputation precedes her. However, she has no prior dating experience.
Agnes, another student at her school, has feelings for her but is too shy to confront her about it. In the end, Elin is the only person invited to Agnes’ birthday party for a number of reasons. Even after a fun night out, Elin avoids Agnes like the plague, not even allowing herself to feel anything for her.
22. Footloose (1984)
