4. Watch Sholay (1975) on Amazon Prime Video
Gabbar Singh, a known dacoit, is captured by a pair of small-time robbers who are summoned by a retired policeman (Thakur). Featuring Dharmendra, Sanjeev Kumar, Hema Malini, Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya, and the late Amjad Khan, Ramesh Sippy directed the revenge-thriller. Amazon Prime Video has it available for you to watch.
5. Watch Amar Akbar Anthony (1977) on Netflix
Many consider the Manmohan Desai star-studded Bollywood masala film to be the best ever made. A first for Amitabh Bachchan, the film was an attempt to appeal to a broad audience. Big B’s portrayal of Anthony Gonsalves amused the crowd. Laxmikant-distinctive Pyarelal’s score, the dramatic one-liners, the colorful cast, and the odd blend of humor and melodrama left a lasting impression on pop culture. Netflix has a copy of the film.
6. Watch Gol Maal (1979) on Netflix
In terms of popular comedies, the Hrishikesh Mukherji treasure is up there with the best of them. Amol Palekar and Bindiya Goswami star in the film, which features Utpal Dutt in one of his most memorable roles as a comedy actor. The film is about a man who is forced to pretend that he has an errant twin brother. The movie may be seen for free on Netflix.
