WWF War Zone

Perhaps because it was the first wrestling game for the Nintendo 64, War Zone is in the top 5. At the time, the game was great, and there’s no way around that. This is the first ever 3D pro wrestling game. It has a unique grappling system with button combination movies, and some pretty cool entrances.

There were a lot of different match types in War Zone, too. Hardcore matches could make things a lot more complicated. You could keep things simple with standard singles and tag team matches, or you could enter the chaos of a Royal Rumble, which was a game mode that only worked on the Nintendo 64.

It came out on the Nintendo GameCube in 2005. In this game, it was the last WWE game that didn’t come from a PlayStation or Xbox game and wasn’t just a smaller version of the game. The game was made by Yukes, but some of the people who worked on Day of Reckoning used to work for AKI.

Day of Reckoning 2 has a grappling system like the AKI-made Nintendo 64 games mixed with Yukes’ wrestling engine. Only this time, the experience is better and more refined than the last time.
