A great player economy helps Path of Exile make the most of being online-only. Any rare item you pick up could be worth a lot to another player. The community is huge, and you can have a lot of fun with other people when you join them on quests.

Grim Dawn
For people who like steampunk and think a blunderbuss would be good to use as an off-hand weapon with their swords, check out Grim Dawn. The gothic Victorian theme gives it a taste that is very different from anything else on this list, but it still has that addictive hack-and-slash-and-loot gameplay loop.
A new game called Grim Dawn is for people who don’t like Diablo 3’s infinite scaling and how easy it is for them. This is a more difficult game, with a more difficult grind that is ultimately more rewarding for people who want to try new things and get pushed. Also, the class system is interesting. Occultists? To make a Deceiver, mix the two together. Color us interested.
