10. Inasa Kirio – Ushio to Tora

Son of an eccentric temple priest, 15-year-old Aotsuki Ushio is full of energy and stubbornness. Ushio dismissed his father’s stories about the mythical creatures known as youkai as simple folklore. A frightening youkai pierced by the renowned Beast Spear has been fastened to the wall in Ushio’s basement for five centuries while his father is out at business. While Ushio reluctantly grants the beast’s demand to be released, a sudden breakout of youkai puts the lives of Ushio’s friends in danger. Tora, the basement youkai, is the only one Ushio has to fall back on in case he needs help, and the Beast Spear is his only weapon of defense against Tora’s wrath. As a result, an adventure through the terrifying otherworldly world begins for an unusual pair.

Beast Spear master Inasa Kirio is one of only a handful of persons who might have wielded the weapon on Earth. Experiments and changes to his body have resulted in a top youkai-killing machine. When it comes to close combat, he’s deadly both with the Elzar Scythe and with his hands.

Known as the “God of Conquest” in dating sim games, Katsuragi Keima can win the hearts of any lady who puts herself in his path. He is unable to enjoy anything other than the two-dimensional world of gaming because of it. It’s up to Keima de Lute Ima, a self-assured demon who accepts an anonymous offer to display his mastery of dating sims, to help her recapture bad spirits that have fled into the human realm and dispersed themselves. In order to harness these spirits, Keima must conquer what he despises most: three-dimensional females’ unstable emotions! Keima has no choice but to put his title of “God of Conquest” to the ultimate test, navigating the heats of a number of real-life women!

In the Lot’s Haqua This demonic acquaintance of Elsie’s is called Herminium (contrary to whatever she says). She graduated at the top of her class as one of the most intellectual students in her grade. Scythe-wielding frighteningly well; she can even make the weapon produce azure flames that can be utilized as projectiles! Haqua is also excellent at casting magic.

8. Zorin Blitz – Hellsing Ultimate

Many people have no idea that creatures of darkness and evil lurk in the shadows, waiting to prey on the weak and defenseless. Sir Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing, the head of the Hellsing organization, is in charge of a large military force dedicated to the fight against the undead. Her army, on the other hand, pales in comparison to Alucard, the vampire, who serves as her secret weapon. Seras Victoria, Alucard’s newest vampire henchwoman, joins Alucard in the fight to save humanity from Hellsing.

As a vampirina with short, spiky hair and an athletic build, First Lieutenant Zorin Blitz is no pushover. Her twisted nature seems to go well beyond that of any of Hell’s ambassadors. Using her illusionary abilities, superhuman speed and strength, mind reading, and the ability to effortlessly wield an enormous scythe, she charges headfirst into the fray.

It’s a daily fight to survive in Remnant’s fantasy world, which is full with frightening monsters and perilous terrain. To combat these ills, however, Beacon Academy is a training facility for hunter-gatherers and huntress-gatherers. Beacon Academy students Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang are prepared for their first day of school. What do they expect to find at their new school?

Ruby Rose, the series’ central protagonist, is also known as “Crescent Rose,” the name of her primary weapon. Designed by her, the Crescent Rose is a High-Calibre Sniper-Scythe capable of morphing into an assault rifle. When she fires, she harnesses the recoil of the round to help her glide quickly and gracefully through the mayhem, dealing with dozens of foes at once.

The use of magic is commonplace in the Kingdom of Fiore. Thus, like-minded wizards and mages formed magic guilds to take on work requests and to find company amongst their fellow members. Fairy Tail is a well-known guild recognized for its strong sense of family and its ability to adapt to any situation. With aspirations of joining Fairy Tail, teenage mage Lucy Heartfilia sets out to find the organization. Natsu Dragneel and his sidekick, Happy, are searching for Natsu’s foster father, the dragon Igneel, as they make their approach towards her. To stop Lucy from being kidnapped by a strange man, Natsu appears and reveals himself to be the Salamander… the legendary Salamander from Fairy Tail. While at the Fairy Tail guild with Natsu, Lucy meets various interesting personalities and is adopted as one of the guild’s own. The adventures of Lucy and Fairy Tail never cease as they face the forces of evil together.

Wind wizard Erigor appears in the Fairy Tail anime as a minor antagonist. Due to the fact that he only took on assassination assignments, he was referred to as “Shinigami” (God of Death) by his fellow members of the Dark Guild. The fact that he owns a scythe only serves to reinforce this impression. Erigor re-joined Oracion Seis under the alias “Grim Reaper” following the time jump.

5. Zack – Angels of Death

13-year-old When Rachel comes to, she discovers that she is stranded in the cellar of an abandoned building. She has no idea where she is and is stumbling about the building in an attempt to piece together what has happened to her. Zack, a bandaged man, carries a scythe and calls himself “Zack.” It’s a peculiar friendship that develops as they work together to find their way out of this unusual facility and discover the cause for their visit.

“Zack,” Isaac Foster, is the first person Rachel encounters when trapped in the building. He is on the run as a serial murderer because of his involvement in a number of high-profile murders. As he fights with a gigantic scythe while covered in bandages and under the “visor” of his hoodie, Zack is the epitome of a “bad guy.”

4. L’Arc Berg – Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (The Rising of the Shield Hero)

To preserve the Kingdom of Melromarc from the ravages of the Waves of Catastrophe, the Four Cardinal Heroes are summoned from modern-day Japan to the Kingdom of Melromarc. Death and ruin have been left in the wake of the Waves time and time again. When he realizes he has to use a mere shield, Iwatani Naofumi is less than impressed. Naofumi is mocked by the other heroes and the people of Melromarc because he lacks the attacking talents that are typically associated with heroes. Myne Sophia is Naofumi’s only companion as he embarks on a solo mission to save the world. When Myne betrays him and accuses him of taking advantage of her, things appear to be going well. Naofumi is shunned by the entire kingdom and is forced to travel alone, his dreadful reputation following him everywhere he goes. To the Kingdom of Melromarc Naofumi remains an honorable hero, even in his current position.

Other countries in this fantasy world have their own collection of heroes, just as Melromarc drew from a slew of heroes from numerous alternate histories of Japan. As the Scythe Hero, L’arc carries a weapon known as the Vassal Scythe, which is capable of slicing through anything in its path. He’s a formidable ally, but he’s a nightmare to deal with as an adversary. In his brief friendship with Naofumi, he never once imagined that Naofumi was the legendary Shield Hero… or the Devil.

3. Hiiragi Shinoa – Owari no Seraph (Seraph of the End)

Older people are being decimated by an unknown infection. Afterwards, a race of vampires known only as the “Vampires” enslaves humans. They rule and “guard” what’s left of human society in exchange for blood. Mikaela and Hyaku Yuuichirou, two orphans who live in the same institution as them, are taken away and exploited like livestock. The children, dissatisfied with their condition in life, devise a plan to flee; however, they are immediately apprehended and slain, leaving only Yuuichirou to survive. The Moon Demon Company, a Japanese group dedicated to the eradication of vampires, tracks him down after he’s escaped. Yuuichirou resolves to avenge the deaths of his family and friends, but vengeance isn’t simple to attain in a world that has been ravaged by war for so many years already.

Shinoa, one of the Moon Demon Company’s sergeants and squad leaders, is a sardonic kid who wields an awesome weapon. Shikama Douji, her Demon Weapon, is a scythe that she can shrink down to the size of a pen. A demon residing in her weapon can be summoned to attack her foes, and she is capable of detecting anything that enters its attack range.

2. Celty Sturluson – Durarara!!

Tokyo’s Ikebukuro district is known for its unusual happenings, rumors, and even gangs and unscrupulous individuals, but the tale of the “Black Rider,” who rides a jet-black motorcycle, stands out above the rest. When Ryuugamine Mikado’s boyhood buddy Kida Masaomi pushes him to go to Tokyo, it’s a no-brainer for him. The Black Rider appears to Mikado on his first day of work, setting off a string of paranormal occurrences in Ikebukuro.

Ikebukuro’s Headless Rider is a well-known local legend. There are several reasons why Celty is one of the most fascinating characters on this list. Starting with the fact that she is a form of Irish fairy known as a Dullahan, we’ll get to the bottom of what that means. Celty, despite her supernatural nature, is a relatable member of the Durarara cast. Every element of her body, including her clothes and bike, appears to be composed of and connected by a shadowy substance. Sometimes, Celty creates this stuff by molding it into a black scythe, which is appropriate given the fact that scythes are used to behead and Celty… well, Celty is looking for her own head… Literally.

Strange couple attacks Kuchiki Rukia in Soul Society. When Kon asks Ichigo about Rukia, Ichigo is reminded of her. Everyone in Soul Society is completely unaware of Ichigo’s identity when he visits the Seireitei. In order to figure out what’s going on and restore everyone’s memories to normal, Ichigo and Kon must engage their friends in combat in Soul Society. But will it be that simple?

After being forcibly combined with Homura and Shizuku, Rukia’s memories are wiped clean and her very appearance is altered. A lavender tint to her hair and eyes, her kimono turns white and ragged, and her combat prowess is substantially boosted. A big scythe appears to be the most logical weapon for the first concept Tite Kubo had in mind for Rukia. There is something curiously heartwarming about witnessing character notions that were once scraped come to life in other ways.

Anime characters who wield scythes are often connected with death and the Grim Reaper, which lends them a spooky aura. Despite this, scythe combat is a common sight in anime, and the agility of scythe-wielders despite the nature of their weapon adds to the menacing aura that scythes emit.
