10 Best Shows Like Vampire Knight That You Should Watching Update 04/2024

Shows Like Vampire Knight

Initially, I was apprehensive about watching this show because of my preconceived notions that it would be another teen vampire romance in the vein of ‘Twilight.’ On the other hand, we should never dismiss anime as a legitimate art form. I began watching the show grudgingly but soon became engrossed in it. As with most anime, I was drawn in by the tense dark drama.

For those who haven’t seen it yet, Cross Academy is a prestigious boarding school featured in the show. Classes are offered both during the day and at night at the institution. Separation of the two shifts is strictly enforced to allow for a smooth transition from one phase to the next. Important, as “elite” students study at night (because they are vampires), so this is required (I think the latter part has got more gravitas). Yuuki Cross is the chairman’s adopted daughter. She’s in charge of keeping an eye on things as they change. She collaborates with another academy student, Zero Kiryuu. Zero, on the other hand, despises vampires. The following is a list of Vampire Knight comparative anime that we think you’ll enjoy. Some of these anime, such as Vampire Knight, are available on streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu.

1. Ouran Koukou Host Club (2006)

Ouran Koukou Host Club (2006)

The shoujo subgenre of anime encompasses this film. It’s a great show to watch with the family. The story revolves around Haruhi Fujioka, a scholarship student at the exclusive Ouran High School. In spite of being a stellar student, she holds no positions or titles at her school, which is unusual in her field. She wanders into the Hosts Club by accident one day. This is a group of popular young men who like to have fun with the female students at the academy. When Haruhi tries to leave, she accidentally breaks a pricey vase in the process. Now she’s forced to work at the club to pay back her debts.

2. Neo Angelique Abyss (2008)

Neo Angelique Abyss is a shoujo/romance anime with a fantasy theme that you might like. This is a story that is primarily driven by female characters. Most of the heroes in the world of “Neo Angelique Abyss” are male. They’re called purifiers for a reason. Angelique aspires to be one, but she already possesses the necessary skills. After that, two zealots who show up at her school uncover her secret powers.

3. Uta no☆Prince-Sama♪ Maji Love 1000% (2013)

Uta no☆Prince-Sama♪ Maji Love 1000%

As for the rest of you, I’d much rather watch an anime with a strong female lead than one where the female protagonist is always in love. The latter part is acceptable if there is a gradual development of the characters. The song ‘Uta no Prince-Sama Maji Love 1000 percent’ accomplishes this. Haruka, the main character, aspires to be a musician and composer. Saotome Academy offers her a spot. She can join the prestigious Shining Agency if she succeeds in all of the tests and challenges there. The problem for her is that she’ll be surrounded by talented composers.

4. Akatsuki no Yona (Yona of the Dawn) (2014)

Anime follows Yona, a princess of the kingdom of Kouka, as she grows up. People adore her father because he is a just and capable leader. Yona is content with her lot in life in the castle. But when her childhood sweetheart, Soo-won, murders her father and seizes control, reality hits her in the face, her ears perk up. Son Hak, her bodyguard, and she must now flee in search of the reincarnated dragon’s power. The author does an excellent job with Yona in this story.

5. Dance with Devils (2015)

Dance with Devils (2015)

We follow Ritsuka Tachibana’s life in “Dance with Devils.” When the student council summons her for breaking school rules, her normal life turns on its head. Later on, she comes to understand that there is a lot more to the story. The fact that her family has been harmed confirms her worst fears. She learns she’s in the middle of a conflict between demons and vampires, and both sides believe she holds the key to victory. What is the best course of action for her? What group should she associate with? This anime has a lot of potential.

6. Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge (2006)

This is a strangely amusing series. Once you’ve read the book, my comment will make sense. Sunako Nakahara has an intolerance to all things aesthetically pleasing. In other words, she got this because a boy kept telling her she was ugly. Slowly, her hatred for beauty began to show, and she began to avoid it. When she sees something or someone beautiful, her nose starts to bleed (told you this is weird). So she often finds herself in sticky situations as a result of her behavior.

7. Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru (2010)

Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru (2010)

Because of the intriguing plot, I decided to watch the film. It’s a good anime. I’d recommend it. In the story, Yuki Sakurai, who has the ability to see people’s painful memories simply by touching them, goes about his daily life. He begins to doubt both his own existence and his own abilities as a result of this newfound power. However, a small percentage of the population is cognizant of his value. Some people want to keep him safe, while others are out to get him. When he is saved by a man with black hair and silver eyes, he begins to understand why he has superhuman abilities.

8. Tactics (2004)

Then again, why not make some demons your friends instead? Ichinomiya Kantaru experienced something similar in ‘Tactics.’ When he was younger, he was taunted because he could see demons. So, in search of companionship, he turned to demons, and over time, he grew fond of them. Kantaru sets out to find Tengu, the Ogre-eater, after learning that he is the most powerful demon. Once he locates Tengu, he names him Haruka in honor of the journey he has undertaken to locate him. For the right audience, this could be amusing.

9. Otome Youkai Zakuro (2010)

Otome Youkai Zakuro (2010)

This anime takes place in Japan during the Meiji Restoration. Kei Agemaki is the main character of ‘Otome Youkai Zakuro.’ A second lieutenant, he is terrified of the phantasmagorical. Yet until now, he has been able to conceal his apprehensions and work alongside the Youkai (girls with ears like a fox). To better understand and interact with other races, the government has taken this step. Kei is now tasked with investigating paranormal cases alongside these young women. Despite the fact that the plot initially appears to be lighthearted, the show has the potential to be quite serious.

10. Diabolik Lovers (2013)

As much as I wanted to include this anime, I couldn’t bring myself to do so. However, I’ve heard that there are those who enjoy it. Perhaps a more specialized audience is required. Yui Komori’s father has asked her to share a mansion with six other men. They’re vampire brothers, and Yui is their’sacrificial bride,’ as they call her. This elicits a strong reaction from the brothers, who are all eager to claim her as their own and satisfy their sexual desires through her. The future is uncertain for her. Is she going to lose her mind?
