15. Angel
Between Angel and Buffy, the former has a Supernatural vibe to it.
Angel is a dark comedy that shifts gears frequently and isn’t afraid to push the envelope.
To be fair, Angel can be a pain to work with because of the variety of formats. It’s likely that those who have only seen the first and last season will be perplexed. There is still a mystery of the week or multi-episode arcs where the gang deals with supernatural beings of all sizes and shapes as seasons progressed in the show’s core.
14. Friday The 13th: The Series
The show, which ran from 1987 to 1990 and had nothing to do with the film series of the same name, had its share of scary moments. However, fantasy and humor were incorporated to make the syndication more bearable for the audience.
There is a focus on two antique shop owners in Friday the 13th. They work with their friend Jack to recover cursed artifacts so that they can be placed in a vault protected from prying eyes. The show was so well-liked that it received numerous Emmy nominations.
13. Warehouse 13
SyFy’s Warehouse 13 reimagined Friday the 13th as a science fiction thriller. The next step in the series. The recovered items aren’t kept in a vault, but rather in an enormous warehouse that expands in size as its inventory grows. To top it all off, many of the artifacts were once in the possession of famous people in history.

Science fiction, fantasy, and horror elements are all present in the show.
Not only is it entertaining, but it’s also quite funny. The Warehouse’s agents are all distinct individuals. The Spidey-Sense of Agent Lattimer, for example, is similar to that of Spider-Man. Ex-ATF agent Steve Jinks, for example, serves as a walking lie detector. Both can be effective recovery tools for magical items.
12. Dark Shadows
We don’t know what supernatural means if a vampire-themed soap opera isn’t included. Dark Shadows, which aired on ABC from 1966 to 1971, focused on the Collins family, a wealthy Maine family from the small town of Collinsport. In part, this is because of Stephen King’s influence; the state is now rife with paranormal activity.
Barnabas Collins, a vampire, and a slew of ghosts, monsters, and werewolves all call the town home. There was even a portal to another dimension in the town. It served as a sort of foreshadowing of Sunnydale, Buffy’s hometown in the series.
11. Stranger Things
Netflix’sStranger Things can’t be left out of a list of shows likeSupernatural.
Every time a new season of the show is announced, fans get excited because it’s a unique blend of comedy, horror, science fiction, and the supernatural.
Stranger Things takes place in Hawkins, Indiana in the 1980s, and revolves around the strange events that occur there. Teenagers form a core group to look into the disappearance of one of their own. That nearby “scientific” lab has opened a portal to the Upside Down is something they don’t know. Paranormal and supernatural beings are now appearing in Hawkins, and some of the residents are being possessed by them.
10. Lucifer
Even from the name, it’s clear that Luciferis a top pick for fans of the supernatural. Despite the fact that Fox canceled the show due to low ratings, the third season is now available on Netflix, and the fourth will be released later this year. It follows Lucifer Morningstar (the Devil) as he flees Hell, opens a nightclub in Los Angeles, and works as a consultant for the Los Angeles Police Department. It has a devoted cult following because of its connection to DC comics, and it’s well worth checking out.
9. Once Upon A Time
Once Upon A Time, a show based on Disney characters, folklore, and fairy tales, is the most supernatural thing on television. You’re in luck because Netflix has all seven seasons available to watch right now, so grab some popcorn and prepare to binge. As with Supernatural, the fanbase for this show is large and you’ll soon find yourself a part of it. Inundated with eccentric characters, wacky storylines, and shocking plot twists, this show will pull you right back into the fantastical world you’ve been missing.
8. The X Files
After watching The X Files from beginning to end in a single sitting last year, I can attest to the magic of that experience. We were all young when the show first aired, so it’s easy to overlook the fact that it is unquestionably the MVP. However, it has all the makings of a supernatural masterpiece to it. The show ran for nine seasons and 202 episodes, so plan accordingly before you start binge watching (not to mention the two “bonus” seasons between 2016-2018). What can I say? People love to see a good-looking couple tackle a paranormal case that has remained unsolved. This sounds all too familiar, don’t you think?
7. American Horror Story
Instead of being a recurring series like some of the others, American Horror Storyis a standalone anthology series that features a new cast of characters and storylines each season. A family living in a haunted house is the focus of the first season, which is set in Los Angeles; however in the eighth season, titled Apocalypse, the focus shifts to witches fighting the Antichrist. Absolutely no supernatural stone will be left unturned in this show. The show is still airing on FX, but you can watch the first seven seasons on Netflix. You’ll be a part of the community in no time, I promise.
6. The Vampire Diaries
Many people are unaware that The Vampire Diaries is based on L.J. Smith’s best-selling novel of the same name. While Twilight was at its height, the show debuted in 2009 and went on to last eight seasons, much to everyone’s surprise. A teenage girl falls in love with an ancient vampire, which on the surface seems like a recipe for eye-rolling, but don’t worry, additional storylines will pop up throughout the series to keep you hooked. Here, we’re discussing werewolves, witches, hybrids, ghosts, and all the rest of it! Make sure your rosary is ready before you begin.
5. Grimm
As the name suggests, Grimm is a cop drama about a homicide detective who learns he’s a Grimm when he investigates a gruesome murder. Wiki says “Grimm” is the latest in a line of guardians who have pledged to maintain harmony between humankind and mythological creatures known as Wesen. Wiki says

4. The Originals
There’s a good reason why the image above reminds you of something from The Vampire Diaries.
New Orleans is a city that the Mikaelson siblings built (they’re the first vampires, remember?) and where the spin-off series The Originals follows them as they try to make a new life for themselves. Despite the lackluster promo images, this Netflix original series is well worth checking out, especially if you’re a fan of The Vampire Diaries.
3. The 100
Consider the possibilities. After a devastating nuclear war decimates the Earth’s population, human survivors flee to a spaceship they call “The Ark” and spend the next 97 years trying to rebuild their lives. To avoid overpopulation, the Ark sends 100 juvenile delinquents to Earth after three generations have been born in space. Their mission: to see if Earth is habitable. Didn’t I have you at “apocalypse”? Will they be able to make it? If this is the case, what kind of challenges can they expect to encounter? Watch The 100 on Netflix to find out for yourself. There are five seasons total.
2. Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Another classic from the ’80s, The X Files is still worth watching. Buffy the Vampire Slayerwas a paranormal cult classic that followed vampire slayer Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) as she battled against vampires, demons, and other forces of darkness if you slept through the nineties (or just graduated from diapers). Don’t be fooled by the show’s original target demographic of adolescent girls; Buffy has time for both sweet romance and a group of devoted friends (also known as the “Scooby Gang”). Watch the original film first, then decide whether or not you want a reboot.
1. Crazyhead
This British comedy-horror film, which I only recently discovered, had me screaming the entire time (in a good way). Fans of Supernatural and Hot Fuzz will enjoy Crazyhead, which has been compared to a cross between the two. These two young women in their early 20s discover their shared demon-hunting destiny as the show follows their lives as bowling alley attendant Amy and pilates enthusiast Raquel. Like in Supernatural, the heroes in this show are all kids who were born into their roles, but unlike in Supernatural, the comedy and sheer absurdity will have you rolling with laughter. This is an absolute must-see! It’s currently available on Netflix, so get on that as soon as possible.
