10 Best Shows Like Gotham That You Should Watching Update 03/2024

Shows Like Gotham

You’ll love these other great shows if you’re a Gotham fan!

It’s possible that Gotham fans won’t know what to watch now that the show has ended. Does any show have the same ferocity while still providing a compelling enough plot to keep viewers engaged? Gotham began with a focus on the growing friendship between two main characters. Young Bruce Wayne and Jim Gordon.

Finding a good show to watch isn’t always simple, and finding a show to replace your current favorite is even more difficult. DC, on the other hand, has done an excellent job of providing fans with choices. If you’re a fan of superhero origin stories, check out Arrow, Smallville, and The Flash. There are also shows like The O.C. where Gotham-based actors get their first break. Regardless of your personal preferences, Gotham will always have a place in your heart, but there are plenty of other shows out there that are just as good, if not better. If you enjoyed Gotham, here are ten shows to check out.

10. Smallville

Smallville

One of the best origin stories ever told was and still is the one about a young Clark Kent on his path to becoming Superman. From adolescence to adulthood, we experienced friendship, betrayal, love, and life lessons along the way. Clark had to go through a lot of hardships, and it wasn’t like the Superman movies always showed him doing so.

Other great DC Comics spin-off shows, such as Arrow, Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow, were inspired by Smallville, including the formation of the Justice League. You can learn how Superman became Superman by watching Smallville if you’re looking for something new to watch after Gotham.

9. Arrow

Not only Tony Stark was a rich plaything in the world of comics. As the Green Arrow in the DC Universe, Oliver Queen assumed this mantle. Since he made his debut on television in Smallville as Superman’s sidekick, it was only fair that he was given his own series following the conclusion of Smallville. Smallville was more family-oriented, whereas watching Arrow allowed comic book fans to get more into the action.

As the seasons went on, Team Arrow grew to include characters like Spartan, Speedy, Overwatch, Black Canary, and more. Oliver began his quest for vengeance believing that he was avenging his father, but he soon discovered that his family was hiding more secrets than just his disguise.

8. Supergirl

Supergirl

After Krypton’s destruction, Kara and the Danvers family flee to Earth, where she joins Clark and his family. Kara’s upbringing differs from Clark’s in that she has a family of her own. It’s tough for her to become Supergirl while growing up with a sibling. As Kara tries to escape her sister’s shadow, she must still decide with whom she will share her secret.

As an adult, Kara is juggling her responsibilities as a hero while juggling adulthood, a professional career, love, and friendships. You’ll feel the same way about Kara as you would about Bruce Wayne as a kid.

7. The Flash

What’s your top speed? Along with Kara and Oliver, The Flash made an appearance on Smallville. The Flash hasn’t let fans down since getting his own show. Barry Allen isn’t as fearsome as Batman, nor is he as physically strong as Superman. His ability to manipulate time is one of the things that makes him stand out from other superheroes.

The origin story of The Flash is equally engrossing as that of Bruce Wayne. Barry is now an orphan after his mother was assassinated and his father was found guilty of her murder. Because of this, Barry is on the prowl for any piece of technology that could assist him in discovering what happened to his mother. As a result, he gains a power that he uses for good by putting a stop to those who abuse their gifts.

6. The O.C.

The O.C.

If you’re a fan of Gotham’s Commissioner Jim Gordon, then The O.C. is a must-see for you. Ben McKenzie, who played Gordon on The O.C., was a runaway teen given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Ryan Atwood was raised in poverty and now has a unique perspective on life on the other side. He met friends and foes, fell in love and lost love, and dealt with his past along the way.

I loved McKenzie’s performance as the rough-and-tumble kid, and if you enjoyed his work in Gotham, you’ll enjoy this one as well. When The O.C. premiered, teen dramas were all the rage.

5. Titans

What happens when the most well-known superhero’s sidekick quits and tries to live a normal life? Dick Grayson, on the other hand, thinks everything is fine until it isn’t. Since becoming a detective, Robin has changed his look and is now donning a different type of uniform while still attempting to bring criminals to justice. However, he hasn’t been able to let go of his past self.

The Titans are formed when Robin, who is still regarded as Batman’s sidekick, joins forces with others of his ilk. It has a diverse cast of characters like Roth, Princess, Hawk, and Wonder Girl. This is now Robin’s team to run however he wants since Batman is no longer involved.

4. Agent’s of S.H.I.E.L.D

Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D

There are some Marvel references, but it’s a fantastic show that’s well worth your time to watch. Agents of Shield follows Phil Coulson, who was Nick Fury’s right-hand man before he was killed in the first Avengers film, as he assembles a team of heroes. Anything can happen when you’re dealing with Marvel. You’ll never know who AOS will bring to your screen.

Every threat must be stopped by the team. As with Legends, AOS features time travel and space travel, but the action in this series may be the best ever seen in a comic book show. This show has a diverse cast and is reminiscent of watching the Avengers on regular television instead of the big screen.

3. Krypton

The first time we see Superman, he’s escaping from the raging nuclear war on Krypton. But why did that explosion happen? Who, for example, wished to end the existence of that planet? Krypton gives viewers a glimpse into life on the planet in the past by focusing on Superman’s paternal grandfather.

In his efforts to restore honor to his family’s name, Seg-El is a bit of a loose cannon. As Seg-El deals with being a disobedient son and also fighting for the forbidden love he’s not supposed to have, knowing that Superman’s bloodline is not perfect makes for great television.

2. DC Legends of Tomorrow

DC Legends of Tomorrow

If you’re into time travel, Legends of Tomorrow is a show you’ll want to watch in its entirety. These are the lesser-known DC characters. When it comes to showing their comedic side, DC is most comfortable on LOT. Sara Lance (Arrow) is the team’s captain, but she’s assisted by less heroic figures like Atom (Arrow), Heat Wave (Prison Break), Vixen, and Nathan Fillion (Prison Break).

Their goal is to fix problems in the past or future without changing history. Legends of Tomorrow is a show where things don’t always go according to plan. There’s no telling what you’ll get when you hang out with this group.

1. Lucifer

While Lucifer is a departure from Gotham’s usual fare, the storyline will keep you hooked. Despite the fact that the story of Lucifer has been told numerous times, this one is a bit different. Lucifer leaves Hell because he no longer wants to waste his time there. However, he’s stuck in his ways when it comes to partying and women.

When Lucifer begins to question whether or not he has a soul, the plot twists a bit. Love or a connection with a particular female is in the air, as is the case with the majority of scripted shows. Suddenly, everything that Lucifer has ever known becomes suspect to him.
