Herschell Gordon Lewis, aka the Godfather of Gore, made the first splatter film in 1963, years before films like Wrong Turn came out. The way ‘Blood Feast’ depicted gore was revolutionary, and it’s now regarded as one of the most significant works of cinematic history.

The movie had a cult following because a certain segment of the audience was willing to put up with the gore and violence, which helped launch the horror genre in the 1970s and 1980s.
Despite the fact that it’s unwatchable due to its illogical plot and mediocre acting, producer David Friedman claims that they never attempted to make the film seem serious. A normal person would have to survive for two days on an oat-only diet from the blood and shabby pieces of flesh, however.

2. The Human Centipede (2009)

Trilogy is a misnomer when describing this set of books. Although it may sound gruesome and depressing, the next two films are directly inspired by the first. As a surgeon well-known for his work on conjoint twins, Dr. Heiter dreams of creating a human centipede by sewing together three different people and connecting their mouths to anus.

To achieve his goal, he kidnaps a female tourist and a male tourist. Despite the fact that the thought of it makes him sick to his stomach, he intends to keep the “triplet” as a pet. Dr. Heiter’s vile and bilious thoughts, combined with his cruel intentions, are abhorrent. Unless turning pale from vomiting and nausea is the only impetus, it is best to avoid watching this.

3. Cannibal Holocaust (1980)

Cannibal Holocaust (1980)

Cannibal Holocaust is the name given to this film. In some countries, this film is still prohibited and only available in a heavily trimmed version, which probably says a lot about the “video nasty” that it is. Cannibal Holocaust brought torture porn to adolescence, if Blood Feast started the genre. Many die-hard fans were horrified by the transformation from crude splatter to something so realistic and revolting. On top of revolutionizing torture porn, this film follows a documentary crew who went to film cannibal tribes in the Amazon rainforests, and they go missing.

After rumors that the actors were sexually assaulted and killed during the filming process, director Rogero Deodato was cleared of manslaughter charges, but he was condemned for depicting real violence towards animals, which is so horrifying that it will make you puke in your popcorn.
