2. Surf’s Up (2007)

To get to the “Big Z Memorial Surf Off” on Pen Gu Island, a young rock-hopper penguin named Cody Maverick has to travel from his hometown of Shiverpool, Antarctica, where the other penguins consider him a foolish surfer. To pay tribute to the late “Big Z,” a surfing legend whom Cody has admired since childhood, the young surfer is determined to win the world’s most prestigious penguin surfing competition.

Shiverpool has better waves, but Pen Gu’s are different, and the competition is fierce. It’s unlikely that the current champion, conceited Tank Evans, will just sit back and let this little penguin walk all over him. In the jungle, Cody meets Geek, an aging recluse surfer, and learns a lot about life and surfing from him. He even teaches Geek a few things along the way.
