20 Fat Anime Characters That You Should Know Update 04/2024

Fat Anime Characters

In the same way that people come in a variety of shapes and sizes, anime characters do as well.

Today, I’m going to focus on the ones that resemble a circle the most.

My overweight friends deserve representation, therefore it’s excellent to see some heftier characters in there. Some of the best anime characters have personalities that are both lighthearted and complex.

Here are my favorite overweight anime characters of all time, in that order.

20. Majin Buu

Majin Buu

When it comes to Buu, the bigger the better.

A leaner and more muscular version of him might have greater power, perhaps. But he’s also a bit of a jerk, so it’s not all bad.

Hercule’s friendship with Good Buu is unbeatable. Also, he can just change your body into something sweet, like chocolate, which is a little unnerving.

Sure, Buu can wipe you out by destroying planets and pursuing you in the afterlife. My son Good Buu, on the other hand, wanted to fight him in order to protect Hercule, even though he was aware of this.

“He proteccs you. He ataccses you. He makes you into one,” says the wise meme lord.

19. Akira Takaoka

For those who saw the episode and are still baffled, here’s all you need to know:

However, I believe that writing a well-developed antagonist is equally as striking as writing a well-developed protagonist. Hence, the inclusion of a few nefarious characters on this list.

But, oh my goodness. In my entire life, I’ve never been afraid of an anime character as much as Takaoka has. The man is Satan’s reincarnation.

This guy is extremely vicious despite his lack of physical strength; he’s shown to be easily outmatched in the ring.

Shivers ran down my spine when I saw a picture of him with his old team. Because I despise him so much, I must give credit to the authors.

18. Charmy Pappitson

Charmy Pappitson

Although her weight fluctuates more frequently than the Monogatari timeline, I believe that anyone who can eat 10 times their own weight in food should be included in this list.

I’d also like to compliment Charmy. I adore her as a loving goofball in every scene she is in.

Charmy is great in every way, from wanting to consume the wind’s spirit to being the show’s most underrated powerhouse.

She does fall into the “food is everything” trap, but it makes sense and isn’t oppressive in her instance..

17. Shigekiyo Yangu

Shigeci is a strange choice, to say the least.

Especially because he doesn’t fit into either of the two categories I previously described; he’s neither a fan favorite nor a villain, duh.

Shigeci’s demeanor consists of a mixture of irritation and amusement. Laughter comes to my lips because of his amazing money-related thinking.

Those of you who were around during the 5 million yen catastrophe will understand. Then there’s his showdown with Kira, which I had no idea would happen. However, it’s not the Polpo banana’s suicide that’s drawing attention here.

16. Pig God

Pig God is the most straightforward of all the overweight characters in anime, or any media for that matter.

In one day, he consumes enough food for 100 people. Your favorite anime heroes like Goku and Luffy don’t eat like that all the time!

He has the air of a gigantic butt joke to him. That is, until you realize that he is an S-class hero who is incredibly strong.

He simply eats monsters alive and can traverse buildings if he so desires. I’m not sure if he’s a joke or the next step in the evolution of humanity.

15. Tonpa

Tonpa

I adore Tonpa because he is such a jerk. If you love trolling people, how much dedication do you need to put into taking the Hunter exam 34 times?

Shush, it’s a little more than simply trolling at times. Despite his moniker, “The Rookie Crusher” is a sincere player.

In addition, the man is a superb manipulator who knows precisely how to push Leorio’s buttons and set him off.

To be fair, Leorio is a volatile character. Tonpa is written in such a convincingly vile manner that it’s difficult to dislike him.

In addition, he’s significantly superior to Milluki, the second candidate on this list.

14. King Kai

When I die, I want to be greeted by King Kai on his planet of munchkins.

He’s like a dad joke in a nutshell. It’s all about making him laugh before he’ll even begin to teach you.

You’ll have to catch his monkey Bubbles and whack his butler cricket with a hammer as part of your on-the-job training.

If you’re looking for adorable huge oafs, Dragon Ball Z is the place to look for them. It is Mr. Popo, Yajirobe, the Ox-King, the greatest of the best.

13. Yumehara Chiyo

Okay, I may have pulled a Charmy again. Chiyo, on the other hand, flies from 0 to 100 in a flash.

This is the second time she’s described herself as “a vivacious girl bursting at the seams. Who knows what the future holds for her?

However, the girl has a serious sweet tooth.

I have never seen something so bizarre, yet so motivating, as her initial training program.

Over time, this could develop to a sense of self-doubt. However, she obtained what she desired as a result of her actions. And let’s not even bring up the subject of Nendou’s weight gain.

12. Arita Haruyuki

Arita Haruyuki

Haru goes through the typical fat kid success tale in Accel World.

Haru seeks solace from his tormentors by escaping into the virtual world. Surprise! The narrative has drawn an isekai trap card, transforming Haru into a flying piggy.

As he finds someone who loves him for who he is, he becomes more comfortable with his physique. It’s all in the past now, as they say.

It’s a heartwarming tale that leans more toward romance than action, in my opinion.

It’s now possible to have a representative for both short and obese kings at the same time.

11. Yoshinobu Kubota

Just like the rest of the characters, Sakamoto outshines Kubota here. However, this is to be expected.

He does, however, have an intriguing storyline. He looks to Sakamoto for help because he is being bullied and he thinks that Sakamoto will just beat the bullies up as his sidekick.

In the end, they both go to work at a fast-food restaurant so that Kubota can learn the value of money and establish his own self-importance.

Kubota intrigues me purely for the reason that he deviates from the typical anime template.

10. Kohta Hirano

As far as looks are concerned, Kohta fits the “overweight character” mold.

His scholastic life is a constant source of frustration, he can’t run quickly or rely on his hands and feet, and he’s preoccupied with a certain subject or subject matter.

In contrast to the conventional eating compulsions, though, Kohta is preoccupied with firearms. Yes, he’s a huge gun fanatic.

He doesn’t have to worry much about his cardiovascular endurance because he’s shooting the undead long-distance, so he doesn’t have to worry about being bullied.

He’s also prone to a bout of hysteria. My guess is that weapons will win out in the long run.

9. Reiji Andou

Reiji Andou

Those of you who are able to stare at Andou and not either flee or burst into laughter are more courageous and mature than I am.

Design decisions like the laughably small face and excessively lengthy earlobes make this giant an utter oddball.

Not punishing him is the worst torture he can fathom, which makes him a huge masochist. If Meiko is wielding the whip, this is even more so.

Even the wandering mountain known as Andou will be manipulated later on. However, he shares the voice actor with Jonathan Joestar, so you may make your own mind up about it.

8. Ozeki Shinya

Until now, overweight characters have been used as a comedy device.

Captain Ozeki Shinya of the sumo club is my favorite of the cast. He’s a good guy for a number of reasons.

Aside from that, a large number of the other prominent characters appear to be ripped, which seems out of character for the setting. As a second point, he appears to be the most grounded.

The man is completely enamored with sumo.

Although he lacks strength, he makes up for it in stamina, which he puts to good use. You must rely solely on the use of your intellect to succeed.

7. Tamako Inada

A conventional high school comedy is offered to us in Silver Spoon, but everything revolves around farming and the countryside.

We rapidly see how much superior everyone else is than our protagonist.

In the cast we have Tamako, the dairy queen and accountant extraordinaire, who is both lovable and endearing. Due of a desire to take over the business her family owns, Tamako studies every aspect of farm management and financial management.

There is no doubt that Tamako is a huge man. It’s worth noting, though, that she has the option of losing weight if she so desired, but instead prefers to conserve her resources.

My guess is that she aspires to excel in all areas of her life. This decision, on the other hand, appears to be more body-positive. Don’t worry about what other people think, just focus on the money.

6. Ichiya Vandalay Kotobuki

Ichiya Vandalay Kotobuki

Trimens’ supreme leader and the sole ace of the Blue Pegasus guild, Ichiya.

I’m quite aware that this lanky womanizer exists solely as a satirical joke. But, wow, do I adore this guy!

There is something about the “parfum” warrior that never fails to amuse. If you look at him from the outside, he looks like Yuga Aoyama’s divorced father.

Then again, Erza was his honey, so he must have some undiscovered virtues.

5. Choji Akimichi

If you’re looking for a plump model, go no further than Choji. OG stands for Original Gourmet, of course.

Even without the naked lady, Choji was an unstoppable wrecking ball with his chakra and his always-present bag of chips.

So don’t ever refer to him as obese. If you don’t comply, the Ino-Shiko-Cho will come after you.

Shikamaru’s best friend, he is a true ally. And despite the fact that he doesn’t always look like a shinobi, he is an excellent one who is willing to put up his life for his family.

4. Marshall D. Teach

Blackbeard is the only one.

Currently one of One Piece’s strongest characters, Blackbeard is a tall, round-bellied pirate with shattered teeth and a shroud of evil surrounding him.

Like Luff, he has faith in destiny. And he is the only one who can possess two demon fruits at the same time.

Depending on the occasion, his persona can display both idiocy and genius, steadfast courage and fear. He is a multifaceted figure.

It is certain that with his ever-increasing crew and bounty, he will be a formidable ultimate adversary for our protagonists.

3. Fat Gum

Fat Gum

Boku no Hero Academia is a popular anime series that you may enjoy.

The term “fat” appears in his given name, which is an ironic twist. Is there anything more perfect than this?

Fat Gum epitomizes the ideal law enforcement officer in terms of his commitment to fairness as well as his ability to inspire others.

The combination of Sun Eater, Red Riot, and Fat Gum absolutely screams “fun time!”.

At first glance, he appears to have a somewhat underwhelming quirk. Rappa, on the other hand, is sure to tell you differently.

Making him both the ultimate weapon and shield is an interesting twist. Just imagine how many eyes would be on the perfect weapon.

2. Takeo Gouda

Takeo isn’t even close to being obese in my opinion. But he’s an absolute unit, so I’m going to include him.

My Love Story, on the other hand, is a joy to see.

You can’t help but feel sorry for Takeo because he is such a good guy. It is more important to me that he succeeds than it is for me.

He’s also a big part of the show’s joke reel because he’s so stupid.

Despite the fact that it means compromising his own happiness, Takeo is a loyal buddy who will go out of his way to make sure his pals are content. Everybody should aim to be even tenths of Takeo’s caliber. One of a kind.

1. Itaru Hashida

Itaru Hashida

The mastermind behind the hacks. Daru, a member of the Future Gadget Lab’s initial team, is also known as Daru.

Besides best friend Kurisu Daru, Itaru is the one who carries the bulk of the load. Both literally and figuratively.

Despite the fact that Daru appears disinterested and lethargic, when he decides to take action, it’s done. This man will not take his eyes off the prize before he’s done.

A glimpse into his life as an adult and father is also provided, and he’s just an incredible person.

In spite of his compassionate nature, he has the self-control to punch our irrational scientist in the face. He is without a doubt one of the all-time greats of bulky anime characters.
