9 Best One Piece Games That You Should Know Update 04/2024

best one piece games

ONE PIECE IS A MANGA! It has been around since 1997, and as of today there are 98 manga volumes. As a bonus, the show, which first aired in 1999, is close to having 1,000 episodes, which is a big deal for any anime. A lot of people in the West haven’t seen One Piece, but it has been getting more and more popular over the last few years.

If you live in North America, you can’t play many One Piece games. That’s because its fans were so nice. Furthermore, the games the West has been given have been only good enough for the West to play. Then, which of them should you play?

1. One Piece: Romance Dawn

One Piece Romance Dawn

Released: December 20th, 2012 (PSP, 3DS)

Developer: Three Rings

Metacritic Score: 42

On hand-held consoles, One Piece hasn’t had the best luck. In 2012, Romance Dawn didn’t do much to change that. This game isn’t very interesting, except for the box art. Given how well the series has done with games, this one is still one of the best.

The game puts the player in charge of Luffy and other members of the Straw Hat team. Romance Dawn is a short title because it only goes up to Marineford. It’s not very interesting to read about. If you like turn-based games, you can spend 50 hours or more playing this one.

2. One Piece: Unlimited Cruise SP

Released: May 26th, 2011 (3DS, Wii)

Developer: Ganbarion

Metacritic Score: 49

Initially, the Unlimited Cruise games were split into two separate episodes. In 2011, they were all released together as one game called Unlimited Cruise SP. The game is pretty simple. Players can play as the Star Hats in a standard story mode.

The game is known for changing things up in terms of style. Each member of the crew has a different animal-themed outfit. Unlimited Adventure has the same number of playable characters as this game, with the addition of Brook to the Straw Hat crew.

3. One Piece: Pirates’ Carnival

One Piece Pirates' Carnival

Released: November 23rd, 2005 (PS2, GameCube)

Developer:h.a.n.d.

Metacritic Score: 49

Even though this game isn’t very good, it isn’t bad. GameCube version: 49. This is the version that has the highest score between it and PS2. It’s the same as One Piece: Unlimited Cruise SP 2 on the 3DS, which also has a 49.

Players don’t need to know much about this 2006 game. It’s just a copy of a Mario Party-like collection of minigames. Over all, it wasn’t very well thought out.

4. One Piece: Pirate Warriors (2012) – 64

Because it’s the first game in a series that only has good games, One Piece: Pirate Warriors might not seem like a good game to play. When you play Pirate Warriors, even though it isn’t very good, it still stands out because of its (not great) platforming sections and hard boss fights.

For people who want to go back and look at the early parts of One Piece, the original Pirate Warriors does a better job than any of its sequels.

5. One Piece: World Seeker (2019) – 65

One Piece World Seeker (2019)

One Piece’s most recent game isn’t even in the top 10, which shows how low the bar is set by the show. Now, to be fair, World Seeker has a lot of good things about it. The open-world action game has a completely new storyline that is in line with the manga; more importantly, the plot is actually pretty good!

While Jail Island is big and sometimes beautiful, it takes up a lot of space with non-descript greenery. However, the worst thing about World Seeker is how clunky it moves. Luffy doesn’t feel very fun to control or take into battle.

6. One Piece: Burning Blood (2016) – 66

Burning Blood, like World Seeker, makes the most of the hardware that is available now. The game’s cel-shaded graphics do a great job of capturing the anime’s look, and the animation works hard to make each hit feel real.

Burning Blood tells the story of the Marineford Arc from a number of different perspectives, but the campaign isn’t very exciting. More than that, the combat in this game is overly complicated and frustratingly forgettable, which gets old quickly.

7. One Piece: Unlimited Adventure (2008) – 67

One Piece Unlimited Adventure (2008)

In some ways, World Seeker is like Unlimited Adventure, an adventure game that also has an open world and a new story. Luffy is only playable in the 2019 game, but in Unlimited Adventure’s campaign, all of the Straw Hats are playable, not just Luffy alone. When a character is levelled up, new moves can be unlocked. Each character has a full move set. There is even a VS mode that lets you play with other characters from the TV show.

It doesn’t matter how much the game repeats itself and goes back to the same places to make it last longer. Unlimited Adventure’s impressive roster keeps the combat fun for most of the game’s 20+ hour campaign.

8. One Piece: Grand Battle! (2005) – 69

When you look at it all, One Piece had a good run during the sixth generation of gaming. First, there were a lot of games that didn’t make it outside of Japan. In 2005, Grand Battle finally made it to the West.

Grand Battle is a fighting game with stylized graphics and reimagined character designs. It’s a love letter to Oda’s series, and there are a lot of things you can get. With 16 characters and a combat system that’s easy to learn, Grand Battle is a lot of fun to play with your friends. It’s similar to party games like Super Smash Bros. or Power Stone. Fans of the show should enjoy this one.

9. One Piece: Grand Adventure (2006) – 70

One Piece Grand Adventure (2006)

Grand Battle was a good start, but the rest of the game fell short in the “adventure” department, which is important in One Piece. Grand Adventure, on the other hand, keeps its predecessor’s fun battle mechanics while improving every other part of the game.

This time, there is a full adventure mode that works a lot like a stripped-down RPG. As long as Luffy has a world map, he can go around and fight different people, getting experience points as well as new crew members as he goes. Grand Adventure also has a mode called “Grand Battle,” which is very similar to the 2005 game. This mode is called “Grand Battle.”
