7 Best Anime Like Kekkai Sensen That You Should Watching Update 04/2024

Anime Like Kekkai Sensen

Until Hellsalem’s Lot was pierced by a dimensional portal to the alterworld and covered by an unbreakable bubble, New York was Hellsalem’s Lot. There is no way in or out, and the displaced New Yorkers are forced to coexist with the terrible inhabitants of the otherworld. This has led to an environment of crime, anarchy, and disorder within, which a nasty creature is now trying to spread throughout the world. In order to safeguard the balance in the city and prevent Hellsalem’s Lot from unleashing its brewing terrors on the outside world, a covert organization known only as Libra has taken up the task.

When it comes to demons and the otherworldly, Blood Blockade Battlefront, also known as Kekkai Sensen, is on another level. In fact, it’s impossible not to watch every episode from start to finish (Yes, that includes its ever-catchy opening and closing songs.)

To keep your enthusiasm and anticipation high, I’ve compiled a list of anime that are similar to Kekkai Sensen.

1. World Trigger

World Trigger

Residents of Mikado City were terrorized and kidnapped by the creatures known as Neighbors when a dimensional portal opened up in the middle of town. With their overwhelming military might and cutting-edge technology, the Neighbors were able to conquer the city with ease. But fortunately, a mystery group known only as Border intervened and drove the invaders from the area with great success. As a result of that day, Border was established to protect the city and its citizens from any future invasions, and to train agents and develop new technologies in the event of another invasion taking place.

Both stories revolve around a city being overrun by an invasion from a portal that has been breached. Although there are no barriers, the planet is still at risk. It has enough action and a compelling story to keep you interested all the way through.

2. Durarara!!

Durarara

The Story: From the outside, Ikebukuro may appear to be a fairly mundane metropolis. But hidden deep within its plain exterior are enigmas that go far beyond what can be explained by folklore and urban legend. Ikebukuro is teeming with supernatural components that are actually interconnected and part of a greater plot, including gangs, mad individuals, cunning schemers, students, and a headless bike rider to top it all off. As a new student in Ikebukuro, Ryugamine Mikado eagerly awaits the city’s wacky offerings, much to his surprise and delight.

This anime has a setting that’s definitely out of the ordinary, like this one. Unusual occurrences and evidence of the paranormal are commonplace. You’ll be left scratching your head, wondering what will happen next. The action in Durarara!! is nonstop and never dull.

3. Owari no Seraph (Seraph of the End)

Owari no Seraph (2015)

People above the age of 13 have been decimated by an unknown virus, and nasty vampires are taking advantage of the desperate situation. The despair spreads as the vampires treat the kidnapped humans as slaves and animals. Years later, a group of children tries to flee the vampires’ tyranny, but they suffer a terrible loss in the process. Only one child was able to get away. The day after that, he made a pledge to wipe out all of the vampires.

Owari no Seraph shares several similarities with the previous items on the list, such as the fact that vampires are the invading force. The plot twists and turns of this anime will keep you engrossed. Both the drama and the action parts are excellent.

4. Ao no Exorcist (Blue Exorcist)

Ao no Exorcist

The Plot: Two universes have existed side by side since the beginning of time. Both Assiah and Gehenna live in human worlds, and Assiah is a demon. The demons have found a method to get into the human world, despite the fact that the two worlds are usually at odds. Human enslavement is their ultimate goal. The king of Gehenna, Satan, is on a mission to conquer humanity. In order for him to take hold, however, he need a powerful vessel He creates a child in the human world to serve as his emissary in the future, using his might and intelligence. However, as it turned out, the Satanic offspring became an exorcist—a skilled combatant who exorcises devils!

There is a striking resemblance between the two: Japanese anime has a lot of demons lately. Both Kekkai Senen and this series have similar genre mixes. One can expect to find action, comedy and drama in Ao no Exorcist There is only one major difference between this series and the original, which is that this one is targeted at a younger demographic.

5. Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis (Rage of Bahamut)

Rita Rage, Shingeki no Bahamut Genesis

As humans, demons and gods coexist in an ethereal world of magic, there is always some sort of strife. Eventually, though, they’ll have to work together to defeat a common foe, something none of them can foresee. A mighty seal was constructed by combining their energies in order to contain the destructible Bahamut. As a result, tranquility reigned supreme over the land. After a thousand years, a heinous plot to free Bahamut is put into motion.

As if to prove our point, here is another story concerning demons. Demons abound in Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis! To be fair, it also boasts a slew of deities. Getting acclimated to the character designs (especially those of the main characters) can be a challenge in this anime, but it is not a major problem overall.

6. Noragami

Noragami (2014)

The plot: The gods must do whatever it takes to establish their renown in the eyes of the human race. Yato happens to be one of these people. Lowly god with no redeeming attributes currently exists. It all started with him saving Hiyori from being hit by a vehicle one day. Her spirit was inadvertently projected from her body, causing her to gain the capacity to do so. It is Hiyori’s goal to restore Yato’s status as a deity and bring Hiyori back to normal by working with Yato and his regalia, Yukine, in order to do so.

Similarities: Noragami is a show that will be remembered for a long time due to its inclusion in the supernatural genre. It has the sense of a slice-of-life series with added action and a well-developed plot. It’s a lot like Kekkai Sensen in that there are comical interludes between the action. This will be a treat for fans of that show.

7. Mekakucity Actors

Mekakucity Actors

Children with unique eye talents set out to find answers to their unexplainable predicament during the sweltering summer heat in a certain city. The Mekakushi Dan (Blindfold Gang) is a secret society tasked with unraveling the mysteries of both the city and its inhabitants. In the searing heat of summer, anything is possible: red eyes, unusual powers, and the Heat Haze.

There is a striking resemblance between this series and Kekkai Sensen, which has a main character with god’s all-seeing eyes. The mystery at the heart of the story is a terrific way to get fans to see this eerie anime.
