Even though the anime industry has been attempting to make more “reverse harems” in the past few years, I can’t endorse many of them.

Let’s face it: finding a good reverse harem anime like this one is quite difficult!

One of my all-time favorite anime reverse harems is Diabolik Loversis.

It doesn’t matter if the plot isn’t original or the characters aren’t original, what matters is that we’re having a good time with this guilty pleasure.

Only the best reverse harems, like Diabolik Lovers, are included in the following ranking.

7. Dance with Devils

Dance with Devils (2015)

Similarities

Vampires and demons abound in Diabolik Lovers and Dance with Devils, respectively, as their titles suggest.

To complete a decent Harem narrative, of course, we need to include a rather innocent and cute female character, right?

It’s lucky that these attractive monsters, despite their nature and future goals, fall in love with our heroine, one by one, just like vampires fall in love with Yui.

Synopsis of the Story

The main character, Ritsuka Tachibana, is a model student, so she is taken aback when the student council summons her, portraying her as a problem.

When things take a sudden turn, Ritsuka is thrust into a deadly realm of vampires and demons battling it out for control of a powerful artifact that would allow them to take over the globe.

Ritsuka, as the title suggests, is the center of attention for the handsome members of the student council.

6. Vampire Knight

Similarities

Vampires are the lovely men who fell in love with Yuki, the protagonist of our story (luckily for us, because we all love a glance at handsome vampires).

Yuki’s naivete could be viewed as a weakness (same as Yui but a bit less due to her existing knowledge about vampires).

There is a similarity between Diabolik Lovers and Vampire Knight in that both take place in isolated mansions where humans and vampires coexist without the latter being aware of their real nature.

Synopsis of the Story

It is set in a universe where vampires and humans cohabit together (unknowingly to humans).

In a school where humans and vampires are segregated by “Day Class and Night Class,” the protagonist, Yuuki Cross, is a high school student. In the Day Class, Yuuki and her stepbrother Zero Kiryuu are prefects and are working to keep the existence of the Night Class a secret from the rest of the students.

In contrast to Yuuki, Zero regards the prefect position as a nuisance due of his anti-vampire sentiments; he sees it as an opportunity to meet her hero, Kaname Kuran.

Whether humans and vampires can live in harmony in this manner is still an open subject.

5. Amnesia

Amnesia

Similarities

Aside from losing her past memories (amnesia), Yui is entirely bewildered as to how she got up living with vampires and what happened to her before this point in her life.

The female MC is also surrounded by a slew of hot guys, each with their own agenda. She, too, is brimming with naivete and sweetness, much like Yui.

Many of the characters in the series have romantic relationships with one other.

Synopsis of the Story

The main character, as suggested by the title, wakes up one day after she fainted at work, with no memory of what happened the day before. The staff enlists the help of two of her pals, Shin and Toma, to get her home safely.

Her amnesia was brought on by him entering her reality, she discovers when she is left alone at home with only the ethereal kid she sees named Orion, who swears to help her recall who she is.

Attempting to remember who she is and how she got here proves to be a difficult effort, as she gets entangled with a number of gorgeous guys with different intentions as she tries to unravel the mystery of the bizarre circumstances.

4. Brothers Conflict

Similarities

Brothers Conflict’s heroine is similarly a high school girl who is “forced” to live with a large number of boys who happen to be brothers (same as Diabolik Lovers).

These two anime include male protagonists that are drawn to or seek intimacy with the main female character. In each anime, there are also ecchi situations between various male characters and the female protagonist.

Synopsis of the Story

Ema Hinata, the main character, was an only child until her single father married a new woman, and she ended up with 13 stepbrothers and stepsisters.

Her stepbrothers, all of whom have different features and personalities, begin to fall in love with her as they become a family, and she learns that it’s not only sibling love that is developing between them. In the end, who do you think will win Ema’s heart?

3. Kuro to Kin no Akanai Kagi (18+)

Kuro to Kin no Akanai Kagi

Similarities

Kuro to Kin no Akanai Kagi isn’t quite as dark, but there’s still a lot to like here.

Kanade, a beautiful high school student, finds herself in the same situation as Yui, surrounded by a slew of attractive men who are smitten with her.

Synopsis of the Story

In her room, Kanade Katagiri spends her days daydreaming about being surrounded by doors that lead to new experiences. Even though he is not her biological brother, Ikuto Sonomura provides for her well, but he also harbors affections for her that he does not acknowledge.

Kanade leaves her room one day to get a haircut because she can’t see through her bangs. This decision opens the door to possibilities in the real world. Her life is completely changed when she encounters a stranger in the park who gives her a total makeover and she is now regarded an enormous beauty, drawing the attention of a variety of guys with different reasons and lust.

2. Kamigami no Asobi

Similarities

Both Yui’s have to deal with obnoxious men, but Kamigami does so in a far more lighthearted manner.

Yui in Diabolik Lovers is confined to an isolated mansion with vampires and unable to leave (and sure, she does appear like cattle at times), whereas Yui in Kamigami no Asobi is confined to a parallel realm with attractive young gods who are trying to teach them about humanity.

Synopsis of the Story

Kusanagi’s daughter Yui discovers a mysterious sword that takes her to an alternate reality in the manga Kamigami no Asobi.

An unusual assignment for Yui: to teach the meaning of love to a group of attractive, godlike young men at the same high school as she attends.

The more Kamigami no Asobi, the better

1. Fruits Basket (2019)

Print

Similarities

Even if Fruits Basket does not have a gloomy undertone, Tohru’s sweet innocence and naivety will make up for it. It can remind you of ignorant Yui.

Tohru, the primary female lead, will live in a house with attractive males who possess supernatural powers (or rather a curse) and receive particular attention from various men throughout the series, but there will be no kissing or romantic scenes. Both anime series are reverse harems.

Plot Summary

When Tohru’s parents died, she was forced to live in a tent with three seemingly normal men (who were also quite gorgeous), but in reality, the men were possessed by zodiac animals. Tohru’s mother and father died in the same incident, and she was forced to live in a tent with the three men.
