11 Best Shows Like Wayward Pines On Hulu Update 11/2021

Shows Like Wayward Pines On Hulu

1. Lost

Lost

Wayward Pines has a distinct “Lost” flavor. The opening scene of both shows is identical. ‘Lost’s’ Jack awakens after a plane crash in the middle of nowhere, his eyes opening in the opening shot.

There aren’t many differences in the settings either. The action of “Lost” takes place on a mysterious, uninhabited island, where the survivors of a plane crash struggle to survive until help arrives. It’s impossible to explain everything. There are ghosts, monsters, sci-fi elements (such as time travel), and a lot of crazy drama in this six-season series.

You may feel daunted by its subtlety at times. There are numerous unconnected plot threads, clues, and puzzles to solve. Time travel, multiple worlds, alternate realities, paranormal activities, flashbacks, and life after death were all used by “Lost.” Some of them are superfluous and only serve to muddle what would otherwise be an engrossing story. Everything else, aside from a few flashback episodes, is quite watchable. Where so many other shows of its kind have failed, “Lost” has managed to be a success. It captivates you with its story and characters, and you’ll want to keep reading to find out what happens next. You’d be curious to learn what happens next to them. It begs so many questions of us, and we must find the answers to those questions. Is there another world somewhere out there somewhere else in the universe? Is there anything to look forward to after we pass away? How far are you willing to go to save the people you care about? These are the kinds of issues that are addressed head-on in Lost.

Lost is your best bet if you’re looking for something along the lines of Wayward Pines on the small screen. You’ll be hooked for a long time with over 100 episodes on your “to-watch” list.

2. The Prisoner – One of the oldest TV shows like Wayward Pnes

An ex-secret agent decides to take a vacation after retiring from his job. A strange village awaits him instead, where nothing is as it seems. They merely want to know why he made the decision to stop working. Is he going to be able to make it out alive?

The Prisoner has been on the air for about five years now, but it hasn’t lost any of its luster. The problem with discussing “The Prisoner” is figuring out where to begin. It was revolutionary at the time. In the world of this show, there are numerous debates about the underlying truths and secrets, each one more intriguing and logical than the last.

There is a pity that this series only ran for 17 episodes because that is more than enough to make it one of the top TV shows to watch like Wayward Pines. Nothing fails to astonish me about it!

3. The Village – A movie like Wayward Pines

The Village – A movie like Wayward Pines

A peaceful but secluded lifestyle can be found in a small, isolated village with few residents. The forest and monsters surround the entire village. As a result of their agreement, the residents of the village are forbidden from entering the woods, and they are also forbidden from tearing the community apart. The moment one of them ventures outside of the village in search of medical treatment, chaos ensues. Everywhere in the village, strange creatures begin to appear, terrifying the locals. However, nothing is as it seems.

Despite the fact that this is a film, I felt compelled to include it. After all, M. Night Shyamalan, who directed “Wayward Pines,” is behind the camera this time. Everything is the same, from the characters to the setting. No one knows why the world is the way it is, and that greater forces may be at work.

It’s clever, terrifying, and utterly fascinating all at the same time. Ignore the naysayers. It’s going to be fine. Most of the negative reaction is due to the fact that everyone is expecting Shyamalan to deliver another film in the vein of “The Sixth Sense,” which is simply impossible. Be open to being blown away by “The Village.” It’ll accomplish what it sets out to do.

4. Resurrection

After burying somebody, what happens when they come back as if nothing happened? When people in Arcadia, Missouri see their dead loved ones, their lives are forever changed. Depending on your perspective, people are either confused or relieved that they’re back. Others, on the other hand, are planning something different.

To be honest, as a huge fan of the book on which this TV show is based, I was very excited to see how well the story would translate to the screen. It doesn’t disappoint either, thanks to the adaptation.

You should watch “Resurrection” if you want a scary show like “Wayward Pines.”

5. Twin Peaks – An amazing TV show like Wayward Pines with same settings

Twin Peaks

It centers on FBI agent Dale Cooper, who is sent to the border town of Twin Peaks to investigate the murder of a young girl. While investigating this case, he uncovers the town’s dark secrets, leading him to believe that everything is not as it seems. There’s more at stake here than meets the eye.

There’s a good reason this show keeps popping up in pop culture references. If you haven’t seen it yet, you should.

6. X-Files – One of the best TV shows like Wayward Pines

The X-Files is one of those classic shows that, despite its age, never ceases to intrigue and enchant.

It tells the story of two FBI agents, Dana Scully and Fox Mulder, who conduct paranormal investigations. Even if it means risking their careers and lives, these two are willing to do whatever it takes to solve a case.

What distinguishes it from other dramas based on true crime cases? Just the chemistry between the two leads is something you won’t see in any other movie. It’s truly magical, and you must experience it for yourself. The X-Files is far superior to other shows like “Supernatural” and “Grimm.”

7. The Lost Room – A mini-series like Wayward Pines

The Lost Room

When put into words, some things sound rather dull. To be convinced of their enchantment, you must see it for yourself. TV shows like “The Lost Room” are an example of this. There is a strange room in the middle of the miniseries that serves as a portal to another dimension. Only one key to that room has been found, and a detective must find out what it unlocks quickly before it’s too late.

Wayward Pines is an excellent example of a short, compelling series that keeps you guessing until the very end.

8. Carnivale

Set in the 1930s during the Great Depression, the show follows Hawkins, a farm boy, and Brother Justin, a charismatic preacher, who discover they are key players in a proxy war between hell and heaven.

After two seasons, HBO had to cancel this show. What a fantastic show! Take a look at the bright side of this situation. You now have the complete second season of one of the best shows on television since the X-Files era.

This show was able to experiment with its plot more because it was on HBO. Adding more gore and nude scenes isn’t the issue. This has to do with the level of drama. Some episodes will make you cry, while others will scare the living daylights out of you and send shivers down your spine. Carnivale is a great choice if you enjoyed Wayward Pines and want something similar.

9. Fringe – One of the must-watch TV shows like Wayward Pines

Fringe

The audience will always be divided when it comes to shows like Fringe. Even though it has a compelling plot, some viewers will find it boring because of the numerous unconnected dots and unexplained mysteries that run throughout the show.

The story revolves around a scientist who was once institutionalized and his son, who join forces with the FBI to solve a series of crimes that are connected to something greater than themselves.

It reminded me of shows like “Lost,” where you are left to decipher some mysteries on your own. To figure out what’s going on, you’ll need to pay attention to every shot, every episode, and every line of dialogue. You won’t have much fun if you’re used to watching an episode every week. I don’t see the problem with it except for those who watch dull shows.

J.J. Abrahams’ sharp writing and a strong cast have elevated Fringe to the level of a must-see show similar to Wayward Pines. 6he plot thickens with each new installment, revealing just enough to keep you guessing until the very end.

10. Persons Unknown

The story follows two kidnapped people who awaken in an odd town after their captors abduct them. Nothing makes sense, and no one knows why they’ve ended up here. When everyone is out for themselves, things start to get out of hand.

Despite the fact that this show never received the attention it deserved and was quickly cancelled, there is still a full season left to watch. There’s a cliffhanger at the end of the season, so be prepared. Considering how fantastic the first season was, we’ll never know what writers have planned for season two.

11. 12 Monkeys – A new TV show like Wayward Pines

12 Monkeys

People like me were strongly opposed to the idea of basing an animated television series on an immensely popular motion picture. However, I’m happy to announce that I was mistaken. The tempo picked up slowly at first, but once it did, it was a wild ride.

There’s a time traveler in the story who’s going back in time to learn more about a deadly plague that’s on its way to wiping out humanity altogether in the future. It gets a lot more complicated when he switches between preset and past.

What I liked most about this show was how nonstop it was. Despite being a 13-episode TV series, the plot and pacing feel like they belong in a film, and you’re kept guessing throughout. Since this show and movie make excellent use of the time travel paradox, it’s difficult to find any flaws. Overall, the show does a great job of making the timelines comprehensible to its audience members. 12 Monkeys is a good time-travel TV show like Wayward Pines with some interesting time-travel elements.
