Leafmen bodyguards attempt to protect Tara as she flees the area in the pod. With so many Boggans around, they could easily be overrun. While being pursued by the Guards, Ronin arrives to rescue her, and the two of them take off on his hummingbird mount together.

Nim Galuu is finally found by Ronin, Nod, and Grub. They follow him to the library, where M.K. finds Tara’s message from before she shrank, along with a solution that will help her regain her normal size. MK and Nod begin to fall in love after Ronin departs and Nod takes her on a deer experience. By having the Boggans deliver Bufo to Mandrake, the pod’s location has been discovered.

Inadvertently, she falls from the tree and her screams draw the attention of Jack, her father. Gavin, Jack’s pragmatist brother, accidentally knocks Pete out while he’s trying to run away.

A furious Gavin sets up a roadblock on the bridge to block them. To make matters worse, Elliot crashes into the truck as it approaches the barricade, negating its brakes. Elliot, befuddled and terrified, climbs to the top of the bridge and begins to breathe in the police. Gavin abandons his assault when the bridge begins to crumble under the intense heat, causing Grace and Jack’s truck to fall.

Peggy begs Elliot to allow her to live so that he can protect her from her attackers in the same way Elliot did for her. Pete will be in danger as long as they live together, Elliot realized. He uses Pete’s book as motivation to return to Grace and Jack’s place. Pete is concerned for Elliot’s well-being, but he has faith in the dragon. Even though Elliot returns to the mountains after hugging his friend, his spirit has been crushed by it all. Pete has returned, this time bringing Grace and Jack along for the ride.
