So, let’s get started with cosplay for girls.

DISCLAIMER: If you’d want to wear any of these cosplays, I’ve included affiliate links in this article. Whether or not I’ve purchased from them myself, I think they’re fantastic prices for new cosplayers. I’ll only share links to products whose prices and quality I deem acceptable. You’re helping me out and my passion by making a purchase from one of these merchants, and for that, I thank you!

1. Sakura Haruno from Naruto (first choice for an easy cosplay ideas for girls)

Sakura Haruno from Naruto

Sakura, one of Naruto’s most prominent characters, is often the first cosplay for new cosplayers. For those who are new to cosplay, Sakura is an excellent place to start because the series is one of the most popular and well-known. The identity of Sakura is a matter of debate: In addition to Sasuke, Naruto, and Kakashi, Sakura Haruno was a part of the seven-person team. There are those who love Sakura to death and those who loathe her to the core (i.e., she’s kind of pointless at times). In Shippuden, though, she’s much improved. There’s little doubt that Sakura is a household name. As a result, she’s an excellent choice for a simple cosplay. Naruto has a slew of strong female protagonists. Hinata Hyuga is a great substitute for Sakura, and she’s just as easy to cosplay!

For Sakura’s cosplay, you’ll need the following:

To get Sakura’s infamous pink wig, simply purchase any pink wig and cut it to your desired length.

A red vest will be difficult to track down in a thrift store. Try looking in the suit and outerwear department for a suitable outfit. To achieve the turtleneck effect, you may need to remove the sleeves and rework the neckline. The only thing left to do is purchase a white zipper from a fabric store like JoAnn’s or Michael’s.

If you’re going for accuracy, you’ll want to find a tablecloth and build your own circle skirt. It’s important to remember that cosplay should be a good time, therefore a basic pink skirt at the thrift store may be easier to come by than you think.

Visit your local Ardene’s for a great deal on a pair of socks for your knees. Socks of all lengths and hues are available, so you’re sure to find what you’re looking for here. Additionally, you may be able to buy knee socks at other low-cost internet merchants like Shein or Romwe.

At the dollar store, you can get some black gloves. For the hip pack, you can choose between a tiny wallet or utility case, and a fanny pack. If your pocket does not include any belt loops, you will need to sew some on.

Even though you can simply build your own headband out of fabric and foam, having a metal headband from the leaf village is more appealing. Naruto-themed headbands are all over the internet, and you can buy one of your own from Amazon, eBay, or any other cosplay site you choose.

2. Keqing from Genshin Impact (first Genshin choice for an easy cosplay ideas for girls)

Keqing, Genshin Impact’s beloved cat girl, is a well-loved figure. Genshin cosplays are notoriously difficult to pull off, but Keqing is shockingly simple and the best choice for first-time cosplayers!

When it comes to the Liyue region, one member in particular, Keqing (pronounced Ka-Ching $$$), keeps a close eye on everything. In contrast to her colleagues, she believes that humans can run the show on their own. Because Keqing’s clothing is so easy to make, I’m guessing that many people have already cosplayed her!

To cosplay as Keqing, you’ll need the following:

Wig — You might be able to find a pre-styled Keqing wig online. Aside from Amazon, Alibaba, Bhiner and SuperBuy, these are all smart places to start.

Dress – This dress is a good project for a beginner because it is one of the easier designs. You can easily build her dress if you visualize it in three layers. As a starting point, begin by layering on a white dress. A light purple layer should only be applied to the front. Finally, apply a darker purple layer on the backside of the painting. You can make the feather by building it out of 2mm EVA foam and painting it in the color of your choice. With elastic, connect each sleeve separately.

Wearing black or translucent tights is acceptable. Using a white or cream colored body paint, you can draw the design on your tights. Seal it before you put on your tights.

3. Evelynn from K/DA (League of Legends)

Evelynn from KDA

In spite of the fact that K/original DA’s purpose was to sell skins for League of Legends, it has grown into a worldwide sensation.

If you’ve ever wondered what the K/DA stands for, Evelynn can tell you. The League of Legends universe has never been the same since the first K/DA music video Pop Stars was published. Ahri, Akali, Evelynn, and Kai’Sa cosplays are everywhere now! With the new KD/A videos More and Baddest, that won’t change in 2022 either.

As well as K/DA, Riot Games has continued to create new music videos and skins for the rest of the League of Legends cast as well. This game and its cosplays will be important throughout the 2020s, as well. You may easily cosplay Evelynn from the K/DA series if you’re looking for easy lady costume ideas!

Cosplaying Evelynn K/DA from League of Legends requires the following:

You could wear Evelynn’s black trench coat as a closet cosplay with the help of some buddies. If you don’t have a black trench coat in your wardrobe, I can almost guarantee you’ll find one at a Goodwill or Value Village.

An extremely simple necklace charm can be made in only a few minutes. The only thing you’ll need is an old earring and a piece of ribbon. Craft stores, corner stores, and even Ardene’s carry a wide variety of charms that are similar in design.

A pair of little hoops, like the ones worn by Evelyn above, may be purchased for about $2 on eBay. Claire’s or Ardene’s also have these in their clearance department.

At any corner store, you can find a basic black belt.

It is Evelynn’s cat ear hair that makes this K/DA version so famous. Set aside an hour or so to twirl the hair in the same way you did the first time. Her wig is available for purchase right here (affiliate link).

It is difficult to make a pair of glasses. Find a pair of comparable frames and tint the lenses with see-through acrylic sheets like soft binders or photography gels, and you’re done!

Claws — For the most comfy claws, nothing beats paper. For a more prolonged impact, you can also use foam. Apply silver acrylic paint or Rub n Buff on the surface.

4. Casual Froppy from My Hero Academia

Cosplaying Froppy from My Hero Academia is a terrific way to get into the My Hero Academia fandom. As well as her jumpsuit cosplay, you may also wear her school uniform, which is a wonderful easy cosplay idea if you want to cosplay MHA!

What kind of animal is Froppy? She is a classmate of Deku’s and a fellow student. When it comes to swimming, she has an extremely long tongue that she can use to grab or throw anything, and she can do so at a very high rate of speed. Froppy is yet another MHA cosplay character who is worth dressing up as.

Options: There are many ways to do this! If you choose Ochaco, you can wear your school uniform (do switch up the wigs though, as Ocacho has brown hair). You can also choose from a variety of school uniforms.

Cosplaying Froppy requires the following:

It’s a light grey jacket/blazer with golden buttons, a white dress shirt, and a red tie for the MHA school clothes, on the top.

Froppy’s hair is green, so a dark green wig will suffice for the occasion.

With black socks and black dress shoes, this outfit is complete.

5. Haruhi Suzumiya from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (whew that’s a long name)

HARUHI SUZUMIYA

Anime fans will enjoy that you’re showing your appreciation for Haruhi, one of the most beloved characters of all time, from one of the most popular shows of the 2000s. She’s also a breeze to dress up as.

When it comes to her personal life, Haruhi Suzumiya is a self-described “extraterrestrial enthusiast.” Haruhi starts the SOS Brigade at her high school because she’s bored. She has God-like powers that can change the cosmos and the planet, but she is unaware of this. The fact that she is both gifted and stubborn endears her to fans on the other side of the political spectrum. Her cosplay outfit is a cinch to put together! A modified high school uniform is all it is.

The rabbit costume, which they also wore in Haruhi Suzumiya, is an option. You might appreciate it if you’re looking for something a little more lighthearted in your cosplay.

Cosplaying Haruhi Suzumiya will require the following:

Cut your bangs so that they fall just below your eyebrows if you’re wearing a brown wig, then use that. By pointing your scissors upwards, you may soften the edges and remove some of the bulk. A headband is an absolute essential! You can make your own by painting a headband the desired color and attaching two ribbons to one side of the headband.

For $50 or so, you could just buy Haruhi’s sailor suit instead of sewing it yourself, which is a lot less work. For the same cost of supplies, you can, however, make your own. From start to finish, it will take you around 6-8 hours and you’ll need 1 y white, 1.5 y blue, and 1/2 y red fabric.

It’s impossible to have a costume closet without a pair of brown schoolgirl shoes. A pair of brown or black loafers will come in handy for a variety of costume ideas in the future. Wal-Mart, Brown’s, and other shoe stores constantly have loafers for sale.

6. Lucy from Fairy Tail

Lucy Heartfilia is a confident and sexy girl who also happens to be kind and compassionate. You’ll recognize her from Fairy Tail, and dressing up as her won’t take much work. She’s one of the most straightforward characters to dress up as.

Lucy Heartfilia is one of the show’s most popular characters and an excellent pick for a female cosplayer. She shares some of Naruto’s tenacity and inability to let go.

You might also try Erza Scarlet as an alternative, however it’s a bit more difficult to cosplay as.

Cosplaying as Lucy Heartfelia requires the following:

If you don’t want to buy a wig with a clip-on ponytail, Lucy has a small side ponytail that you can easily style on a conventional blonde wig. Gather the hair into a ponytail and use a comb to tame it.

In order to add the blue details to a white zip-up vest, you can either topstitch or hand stitch the blue details onto it yourself. Wondertape or HeatnBond (with an iron) is the best way to keep the pieces in place as you stitch.

Pleated blue skirt — This costume’s most straightforward component is the blue pleated skirt. While American Apparel is my go-to “fashion” brand for pleated skirts, you can easily purchase pleated skirts online in a variety of colors and lengths.

It’s up to you to decide the quality of leather or faux leather you’d like for your brown boots. Get what you like and what you feel comfortable in, and don’t worry too much about how accurate the heel is.

Lucy’s belt and pocket can be made from a thick twill, canvas, leather, or pleather. Making just the pocket of a generic brown belt might be simpler. To make it easier to put on, add a few little belt loops to the pocket.

7. Winry Rockbell from Fullmetal Alchemist

WINRY ROCKBELL TỪ FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST

Anime fans will love Fullmetal Alchemist, which features a heartfelt cast of characters. Winry Rockbell, the spunky sidekick for Edward and Alphonse, deserves just as much attention as these two! A tank top and green slacks are Winry’s attire for the day. Most girls can easily carry off the “tomboy” appearance that she has going for her. Winry Rockbell would be proud of you if you wore a wrench around your neck. For those who are new to cosplay, this is a great option.

Who is Winry? Winry is an expert in the field of automail, having come from a long line of mechanics. She routinely fabricates parts for Ed, the show’s protagonist. Winry, despite her lack of alchemy prowess, is equally as useful and intelligent as the protagonists. A well-known and well-loved character in the show.

If you don’t feel like dressing up as Winry, there are lots of other female characters in FMA for you to choose from. Riza Hawkeye, a character from FMA, is another well-known one. Getting started is as simple as donning her uniform. Another attractive character is lust, which is simple to play.

To cosplay as Winry, you’ll need the following items.

The wig and bandana you used for your previous costume as a long-haired blonde character can now be reused for this one. No one would ever guess that Winry has a red bandana (or just a rectangle of fabric) over much of her hair.

A black tube top can be found at Wal-Mart, George, Target, Garage, and Joe Fresh. Malls are a good place to look for these.

When it comes to capris, don’t sweat the precise shade of blue that Winry is wearing—the accessories are what really make this outfit pop! As a matter of fact, the more worn and faded the better. Having stains and tears on Winry’s clothes is perhaps the most authentic way to portray her as a working girl.

Accessories include a wrench, a tool belt, gloves, and whatever else you can find in your garage.

8. Misty from Pokémon

Okay, so it’s true that Pokémon is based on a video game. However, an anime adaptation of it has been airing for more than two decades! We all know Misty is a minor character in Pokemon Red/Blue, but she’s a major one in its anime adaptation for the first two seasons. This explains why she’s a popular choice for female cosplayers. A yellow tank top, blue shorts, and an orange wig are all you’ll need!

The Cerulean City gym is run by Misty and her three sisters. After her bike is destroyed by Ash Ketchum’s Pikachu, she resolves to follow him. As long while she has to wait for him to pay back the loan she took out for a new bike, she is a great friend to have along for the ride as he hunts down all the Pokémon. Misty is a loving lady, but she has a short fuse when it comes to Ash and her Psyduck!

Options: One of the best things about Pokémon anime is how easy it is to dress up as your favorite character. Dawn (Gen 4) or Serena (Gen 3) could be cosplayed as Ash’s female friends if you don’t want to be Misty (Gen 6). Cosplaying as Jesse from Team Rocket is also an option if you’re feeling sneaky, although it’ll be difficult to get it right. If you decide to join Team Rocket, don’t forget to invite James!

Cosplaying as Misty requires the following:

An orange wig with a side ponytail, similar to Misty’s, can easily be recreated with a hair tie. Extra effort can be made by using lash glue to put her bangs precisely where you like them to be.

An perfect yellow top would be elastic but also form-fitting. White or light-colored cotton can be dyed using fabric dye and sharpies if desired.

Shorts – Any pair of denim shorts would suffice, but I prefer high-waisted shorts since they stretch the legs and are more appealing.

Make sure your running shoes have the same or a similar shade of color.

9. Rin Tohsaka from Fate Stay Night

RIN TOHSAKA TỪ FATE STAY NIGHT

Fate Stay Night’s Rin is a well-known anime and video game character. Rin, voted one of the best female characters of this decade, is one of the easiest cosplay characters for ladies.

To begin with, Rin is cold-hearted and takes things seriously, as befits a Tsundere character. After a while, she gets to know the people around her and they get to know her. This is why she’s so likable as a protagonist. She is widely considered to be one of the most famous Tsunderes.

There are several Fate characters worthy of cosplay besides Rin. However, no one’s costume will be as plain as Rin’s. However, Saber’s dress will require more effort (or money) to pull off than Rin’s does.

To cosplay as Rin Tohsaka, you’ll need the following:

With long hair, wigs are unnecessary. However, most cosplayers choose to wear wigs because it enhances their appearance. Rin wigs can be purchased online for as little as $20-30. Because I believe her hair has a grey undertone, I like to hunt for a precise blend of blue and grey rather than a jet black wig.

In order to get the cross pattern on the front of a red sweater, use fabric adhesive or sew it down. Some other cosplayers have also used embroidery or vinyl to decorate their shirts, depending on the type of fabric.

It doesn’t matter what kind of black skirt you have!

Thigh high socks If you don’t already own a pair, you can get some at Ardene’s or buy them online.

10. Umaru-chan from Himouto Umaru-chan

Umaru-chan needs little introduction; she’s an adorable chibi character that’s simple for female cosplayers to dress up as.

What is Umaru-relation chan’s to the protagonist? While attending school, Umaru-chan appears to be a regular high-achieving and well-liked kid. But once inside her house, she experiences a whole different existence. When it comes to eating junk food, playing video games, and watching anime, Umaru-chan is an unmotivated character. Basically, she’s turned into an Otaku slob! Being charming and relatable is why she’s a terrific cosplayer. That hamster sweatshirt is super-comfy, too, which makes her all the better. When you’re dressing up like her, bring some potato chips and a bottle of pop!

Those who don’t wish to be Umaru-chan can choose from a variety of other characters, all of whom have a similar appearance. Sylphynford is a friendly rival of Umaru’s who wears an appealing blue outfit. Another choice is Kirie. A white dress shirt with a red ribbon tie and a red skirt work well for cosplaying Umaru’s school outfit. Orange is the color of her hair, which is long and flowing.

Cosplaying as Umaru-chan will require the following:

Wig with a gentle peach hue — If you’re looking for a wig similar to Umaru’s, check out your favorite internet retailer. Amazon is the best place to get wigs since they ship so quickly!

It’s the cape that makes or breaks this costume. Make your own out of an orange fleece blanket for approximately $20 or buy one from Amazon. Rather than attempting to make one from scratch, I recommend purchasing one of these already made.

T-shirt — You may use any unprinted shirt for this. You may already have one sitting around. At Costco, you can buy a few and stockpile them!

A wide variety of pink shorts are acceptable, from yoga pants to athletic shorts to pyjamas.

If you’re looking for a pair of red shoes that you can wear all day, I’d recommend Converse low tops, Converse ballet shoes, Vans, or Keds.
