Top 10 Anime Characters Born In April That You Should Watching Update 04/2024

Anime Characters Born In April

Friends, it’s great to have you back!

Anime characters born in the month of… have taken us on our fifth trip together.

Anime fans have selected the top ten characters born in April, and we’re featuring them here.

According to non-anime fans, writing an article about the most popular characters in anime based on their birth dates and creators’ imaginations seems a little absurd. In the modern world, birthdates and astrological signs can still play a role in how people are viewed by their families and the rest of society. Some anime and manga authors rely on the cultural significance of birthdays to convey character attributes, as personality testing is out of the question.

During April, the signs of Aries and Taurus come together. Western astrology says that persons born under these signs are passionate, driven, and self-assured, yet they can also be stubborn or fiercely protective. Characters from both manga and anime have many of the same traits that we’ve listed below. Take a look at our list of the most popular anime characters born this month to see whether you believe me.

It’s a monumental task, like it was for the previous editions, to come up with a list of ten notable people whose birthdays fall in April. According on my own research, I came up with a rather accurate list of the best anime characters. As the list was being drafted, I realized that a few of the contenders were unfamiliar to me. I was able to compile a decent list of anime characters born this month after taking regular breaks from research and polling to rip out my hair. This time, I made a point of including both male and female characters who, according to the writers of the stories, were born in April.

I’m curious if you’ll let me know if I missed any famous April babies from anime or manga. Let me know what you think by leaving a comment here.

10. Suguha “Leafa” Kirigaya (Sword Art Online)

Suguha Kirigaya (Sword Art Online)

On April 19, 2009, I was born.

For fans of both Isekai and Sword Art Online (SAO), this is an exciting month!

A brief appearance in episode one sets the stage for Suguha Kirigaya’s rise to prominence in episode fifteen. She is Kazuto Kirigaya’s cousin and adoptive sister.

It was after her brother became lost in the world of Sword Art Online that Suguha decided to put her kendo career on hold. To learn more about Kazuto’s VRMMORPG obsession, she signed up for ALfheim Online and began playing with the other players there (ALO).

As a Sylph warrior, Leafa has strong scouting abilities because of her speed and ability to fly. Kazuto’s return to VRMMORPG gaming is a result of Suguha’s character skills and love for ALO. When it comes to helping her brother save Asuna Yuuki, she plays a crucial role.

Fans get to see a cute gamer who has a lot of heart for his family and friends over the course of several arcs. First up is Suguha Kirigaya, who is celebrating her birthday in April.

9. Ruri Gokō (Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai)

Date of Birth: April 20, 1996

The anime series Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai provides the inspiration for our tenth episode in our series.

Ruri Goko, a high school student who goes by the name “Kuroneko” in the online otaku organization Otaku Girls Unite, made her debut in the light novel.

In the absence of her parents, Ruri must look for her younger siblings because the family is tight for cash. She sometimes puts the needs of her younger sisters ahead of her academic responsibilities as a sort of de facto parent figure.

Ruri appears snooty to the outside world, yet this disguises a girl who suffers from insecurity. She is able to maintain a sense of anonymity in order to avoid dealing with the stresses of everyday life through her involvement in online and otaku culture. There are a few people in Ruri’s online community with whom she has established personal bonds. It is with Kirino Kousaka and Kyousuke, her older brother, that she strikes up a friendship. The three of them form a close bond through their shared passion for anime and otaku culture.

Ruri and Kyousuke are married and have children in the spin-off manga, which anime fans can read. Because of Ruri Gok’s deeds, we’ve included her in this month’s list of the best examples of Taurus personalities.

8. Yasutora “Chad” Sado (Bleach)

Yasutora Chad Sado

Date of Birth: 7 April

It’s not often that a threatening deuteragonist in an anime series turns out to be an endearing giant who has a deep affection for the people around him.

As a baby, Yasutora Sado (better known as Chad) was born in Okinawa, but his family relocated to Mexico not long after. After his parents died, Oscar Joaqun de la Rosa, Chad’s maternal grandfather, adopted the young man. Yasutora returned to Japan as a teenager following the death of his father and moved to Karakua Town, where he began boxing professionally and attended high school.

Chad learns about Ichigo Kurosaki’s role as a substitute soul reaper and the Soul Society from Kisuke Uhahra in Bleach’s Agent of the Shinigami arc. Additionally, Yasutora is taught how to unleash his Fullbring powers through the Brazo Derecha de Gigante or “Right Arm of the Giant,” and Brazo Izquierada del Diablo or “Left Arm of the Devil.” Creator Tite Kubo of Bleach brought one of the few culturally diverse anime characters to life,

Yasutora “Chad” Sado is a beloved character among anime fans thanks to his combination of strength and tenderness.

7. Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck (Bleach)

Date of Birth: 24 April

One of the best characters from Tite Kubo’s Bleach is featured in our seventh place.

Nel Tu, or Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck, is a former Espada member. During the Hueco Mundo storyline, she is first introduced to the show.

Team Ichigo encounters a youngster being hunted by Hollows as they make their way toward Las Noches to rescue Orihime Inoue. They take on the monsters in her defense. They discover, thanks to Nel Tu’s intervention, that the Hollows are her biological brothers and the third is their pet. In order to save a helpless young girl, Ichigo’s group turned up the volume on the quartet’s instruments.

In exile, she rose through the ranks of Los Noches’ Espada to become the third most powerful until a confrontation with Nnoitra Gilga reduced her to the state of a childlike Arrancar. After seeing Nnoitra shatter Ichigo’s wrist, she reverted to her adult Espada form.

In this fight, Nel Tu shows why she was a member of the Espada by dispatching Nnoitra with ease.

Since her 2007 debut, Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck has maintained a devoted fan base and is one of our favorite April-born anime characters.

6. Katsuki Bakugou (Boku no Hero Academia)

Katsuki Bakugou (Boku no Hero Academia)

April 20 is the date of my birth.

For our sixth and last character in honor of everything shnen, we have My Hero Academia to thank. Katsuki “Kacchan” Bakugou, also known as the Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight, is U.A. High School’s hero-in-training and series deuteragonist.

This character’s first appearance reveals a self-assured and arrogant someone who thinks he or she is better to others, particularly those who lack Quirk talents. His early behaviors might qualify him as a bully. In Kacchan’s interactions with Izuku Midoriya, a childhood friend and fellow Class 1-A student, we see this type of conduct. After a few defeats at the hands of fellow students, his less-than-stellar disposition gradually gives way to a slightly less unhealthy competitive spirit.

The best way to change one’s perspective on life is to eat a piece of humble pie. One for All and Explosion were both Quirks he has, but they have a limited duration. Over the course of the series, Kacchan has evolved into a character known for his never-say-die attitude. Katsuki Bakugou is a fantastic anime character for all of these reasons and more.

Fact: The kanji for “to win” and “self” appear in Katsuki Bakugou’s name, while the kanji for “bomb” and “strong” appear in his surname.

5. Kakarot or Son Goku (Dragon Ball Z)

Goku and several other Saiyan

Date of Birth: 16 April 737

Dragon Ball Z’s protagonist is one of the most popular anime characters, according to the results of our sixth poll.

He is the son of Bardock and Gine from Planet Vegeta, and is known as Kakarot or Son Goku.

As a newborn, Goku was sent to Earth by his Saiyan ancestors with the intention of destroying it. A traumatic brain injury, on the other hand, tamed the child’s destructive nature and allowed him to concentrate on honing his superhuman abilities. Goku becomes the Earth’s greatest protector as a result of this.

Every Saiyan in Universe 7 is born with a prehensile tail, including this particular one. To prevent Goku from becoming a world-destroying Great Ape, Kami, a former defender of Earth, would permanently remove this appendage. Because of his devotion to martial arts training and the knowledge he gains from it, he is able to reach the pinnacle of his combat prowess in the Dragon Ball Super series.

He married the Princess of Fire Mountain and had two sons, who would carry on his environmental stewardship.

Son Goku has pleased shnen fans for almost thirty-five years, ever since his debut in The Secret of the Dragon Balls. By today’s standards, Son Goku’s longevity is astounding, and it’s why he remains one of the most popular anime characters.

4. René Tamaki Richard de Grantaine Suoh (Ouran High School Host Club)

April 4 is my birthday.

This month’s entry celebrates Basco Hatorie’s 40th anniversary and features one of my personal favorite anime characters. I’m referring to Tamaki Suoh, the president of Ouran High School’s Host Club.

Tamaki’s mother was forced to give up parental rights to the father’s family under the condition that she cut all ties with the child’s father. The Suoh family prepared Tamaki for the role of heir to the Suoh fortune by instilling in him an appreciation for Japanese high society culture and customs.

Assuming that Tamaki would be a one-dimensional tool, I was surprised to see that Basco Hatorie had given this character a lot of complexity. When we first meet Tamaki, we see her as someone who has a flare for the dramatic but who is a little sluggish to grasp new concepts. As we see Tamaki’s abilities as a pianist and as a student, our expectations are rapidly dashed. We see him devoted to his friends and family but secretly wishing to find his biological mother.

Fans of the Ouran High School Host Club have been enjoying the narrative and the characters for a decade now. Tamaki Suoh has been included in the top ten list of April birthdays by anime enthusiasts.

3. Kagome Higurashi (InuYasha)

Kagome Higurashi (InuYasha)

Date of Birth: 30 April 1981

When you think that InuYasha first aired around twenty-odd years ago, it’s incredible that our third entry is celebrating its fortieth birthday.

At the family shrine, Kagome Higurashi, a high school student and the protagonist of the series, lives with her mother and younger brother.

Kagome was dragged into the sacred well by a yokai on her fifteenth birthday and whisked back in time to Japan’s Sengoku jidai (1467-1615). She defeats the mukade and frees the hany Inuyasha in the process. Reincarnated miko, Kikyo, and her body contain the Shikon no Tama or “Jewel of Four Souls,” which Kagome discovers. Dispersed over Japan, the Jewel is shattered and fragmented. To prevent the fragments from falling into the hands of the spider ykai Naraku, Kagome and her companions must journey across the country in search of them.

By employing a shorter yumi (hanky) with arrows to subjugate evil, she exhibits her expertise of archery.

No matter if you consider Kagome a waifu or closest friend, I believe we can all agree that she is a strong female lead. According to fan polls and Kagome Higurashi’s own words, she’s April’s third most popular character.

2. Mei Misaki (Another)

Date of Birth: 27 April 1983

An anime character comes along every now and then that defies expectations by allowing the viewer to go into the darkest reaches of the human psyche. This is a good fit for April’s silver medal finalist.

Class 3-3 at Yomiyama North Middle School’s Mei Misaki has the distinction of having the shortest student in the entire school. Her students referred to her as “the one who does not exist” because of her pessimism and social withdrawal. We learn about Mei’s upbringing and public persona through her narrative, and we come to appreciate how well they complement one another.

She was taken away from her twin sister as an infant and raised by her aunt. Mei’s aunt bans her from contacting her birth parents after learning about her lineage. She was able to get in touch with her identical twin sister and build a friendship with the help of a cell phone..

When a childhood ailment left Mei with only one functional eye, her mother fashioned a prosthetic from a doll’s eye, which she wears under her eyepatch. Mei, the dog of the tragedy, is also a witness to an assault that resulted in the death of a lady.

Anime fans are given a glimmer of hope that she may emerge on the other side of these storms as a happier individual. My heart goes out to Mei Misaki as we honor her as our runner-up for the best anime character of April.

1. Erza Scarlet (Fairy Tail)

Erza Scarlet, Fairy Tail

Birthdate: x765-07-Apr-2019

Erza Scarlet, the lead character in Fairy Tail, is the top character born in April.

As a child, Erza was kidnapped by slavers and forced to help build the Tower of Heaven in an effort to bring back the evil mage Zeref. It wasn’t long until the young girl snapped and organized an uprising to release her fellow prisoners. As a result of Erza’s fervent efforts, she was able to release her own magical powers, which were crucial in defeating the slaver cult.

She will become one of the Fairy Tail Guild’s most powerful members, both physically and magically, as she recalls the legends of mage unions. When it comes to Natsu Dragneel and his crew, Erza is unwavering in her loyalty to the Guild and its members.

In public, we see a stoic warrior who wears conventional clothing, yet behind this stiff exterior hides a passionate woman. She has a particular interest in sleazy fiction and sexy clothing.
