After Richard Linklater’s Dazed and Confused hit theaters in 1993, a new generation of stoners was born. Matthew McConaughey, Jason London, and Milla Jovovich feature in this stoner flick set in 1976, in which we get a glance at how the cool kids party. In Gregg Araki’s Smiley Face, Anna Faris’s wannabe actress Jane eats her roommate’s weed-laced cupcakes in order to satisfy her hunger pangs. The film follows her as she tries to complete the day’s to-do list while high as a kite, and as you might guess, there is a fair amount of laughter.
3. Super High Me
Comic In Doug Benson’s documentary cannabis movie, he parodies Super Size Me. Benson abstains from pot consumption for a whole month in this 1 hour and 34 minute clip before spending a complete 30 days smoking all the weed he can find.

With the addition of a lot of marijuana, Judd Apatow, Evan Goldberg, and Seth Rogen create an incredible masterpiece. As a witness to a murder alongside his drug dealer, Rogen portrays a process server in this comedy from 2008. ( played by James Franco).
As the world descends into anarchy, the two must flee hit men and corrupt police officers. Craig Robinson and Danny McBride, among the film’s supporting players, provide some of the show’s most memorable laughs.
5. Up in Smoke
At its core, Up in Smoke is a Cheech and Chong classic that’s a joy to see. As one of the original stoner films, Up in Smoke is generally recognized as being a touch ahead of its time. Who can forget the great line, “Dave’s not here dude,” from this film?
6. Reefer Madness
Without Reefer Madness, what’s the point of this list of marijuana-themed movies? An anti-marijuana propaganda film from 1936, this cult classic has become a cult favorite among cinema buffs. Smoking pot is shown in the movie as a gateway drug that leads to criminal behavior, hallucinations, and, finally, madness.
However, the picture found fresh appeal in the 1970s among pot users who consider this film parody.
7. Half Baked

Half Baked, starring Dave Chapelle and Jim Breuer, is one of the most well-known stoner films. Funny movie about four stoners who get incredibly high on strong medical marijuana written by the comic duo of Chapelle’s Show Dave Chapelle and Neal Brennan. As soon as one of the pals is arrested, the others start their own marijuana business and get into all kinds of trouble.
8. Harold and Kumar Go To Whitecastle
Is there anything better than a single (or 100) of those White Castle cheeseburgers when you’re in the mood for some fast food? Nothing, if you’re Harold and Kumar. Harold Lee and Kumar Patel star in this comedy about two best friends who go out for a smoke and then eat at White Castle. A raccoon and Neil Patrick Harris, who plays himself, are two of the hurdles they meet.
9. Ted
There’s nothing better than a buddy movie where one of the characters is a talking, walking teddy bear. For the first time in his life, John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg) is able to bring his teddy bear to life.
Adult Ted is a foul-mouthed, pot-smoking bear who will have you laughing throughout the entire film. Mila Kunis and Giovanni Ribisi star in Seth Macfarlane’s directorial debut, Weeds.
10. How High
When two friends smoke weed that has been fertilized with their deceased friend’s ashes, the ghost of an old acquaintance is invited to visit them. The phantom aids the students in completing their high school diplomas, obtaining scholarships, and navigating their social lives in college. These two stoners got into all sorts of issues at school for stealing, vandalizing, and generally wrecking havoc.
