1. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
An alternate timeline for the previous Fullmetal Alchemist anime (2003-2004) can be found in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (2009-2010). It has a rounded weighted rating of 9.15. (scored by 1,655,710 users). Brotherhood is frequently regarded as the superior series because it is authentic to Hiromu Arakawa’s original manga and completes the plot.
Brothers Alphonse and Edward Elric are searching for the Philosopher’s Stone in this action-adventure-comedy-drama-magic-fairytale shounen animated series. The stone is said to restore Alphonse’s body and Edward’s arm and leg after an attempt to revive their mother ended in a tragic disaster.
Gintama (2006-present) accounted for half of the top ten in the action genre, while the most popular season was the fourth (2009-2010). A 9.09 weighted score covers episodes 266-316 of Gintama° (scored by 175,304 users).
The comedic, historical, parody, samurai, science fiction, and shounen elements in this action-adventure show round out its appeal. Swords have been prohibited in Edo in this parallel world, and the country has been taken over by aliens.
3. Hunter X Hunter (2011)
Hunter x Hunter’s 2011 adaption has received tremendous praise, earning a weighted score of 9.05 on Metacritic (scored by 1,293,282 users). A replica of the popular Hunter x Hunter anime from 1999, except this one has 148 episodes instead of 64, making it more than twice as long.
Being a hunter can be a lucrative but risky profession in today’s environment. These range from those who catch criminals to treasure hunters to those who cook. Gon Freecss, a 12-year-old boy who dreams of becoming a hunter, and his buddies take the Hunter Exam and traverse the world to achieve their goal.
4. Attack On Titan Season 3 Part 2
Massive walls protect residents in the dystopian planet of Attack on Titan from titanic man-eaters known as Titans. To protect the populace and stop the Titans, Eren Yeager and the Survey Corps are on a mission.
5. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2
There is also a weighted score of 8.91 for Code Geass: Lelouch R2 (2008), the sequel series to the original series Code Geass (2006-2007), which comes under the military, science-fiction, superpower and mecha genres, as well as the mecha sub-genre.
Zero is Lelouch Lamperouge, a masked vigilante on a mission to overthrow the Holy Britannian Empire as the masked vigilante Zero. In addition to the “Best TV Animation” prize at the 13th Animation Kobe event, this original anime series got the “Most Popular Anime” award at the 30th Annual Anime Grand Prix of Animage.
6. Mob Psycho 100 II
Mob Psycho 100 II (2019), a sequel series, gets a weighted score of 8.81 (scored by 695,738 users). The anime is described as a slice-of-life supernatural comedy in addition to its action elements.
As a child, Shigeo “Mob” Kageyama was born with the ability to see ghosts and other spirits. When he’s not working with his mentor, Reigen Arataka, on exorcisms or other supernatural cases, he’s working on his own.
7. Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc
The most recent addition to this list, Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc(2021), has a weighted score of 8.61 (scored by 51,412 users). The demons, historical, shounen, and supernatural genres are all represented in this action anime.
Unofficially, Mugen Train has been referred to as the franchise’s “second season,” with the Entertainment District Arc serving as the franchise’s third season. Tanjirou Kamado’s quest to eliminate Muzan and his demon subordinates continues in this episode. Tengen Uzui, the quirky Monster Slayer: Entertainment District ArcSound Hashira, must team up with Tanjiro and Zenitsu and Inosuke to investigate a demon plaguing Japan’s Yoshiwara red-light district.
8. Kizumonogatari III: Reiketsu-hen
The third film version of the Monogatari series, Kizumonogatari III: Reiketsu-hen (2017), was released in 2017. A prelude to the second film, in fact. In addition to the action genre, this anime also falls under the mystery, supernatural, and vampire categories. It has an overall rating of 8.81.
After surviving a vampire attack, Koyomi Araragi, a high school student, is the protagonist of the Monogatari series, originally a light novel series. As a result of that experience, he now assists young women deal with paranormal experiences. After Koyomi revives the legendary vampire Kiss-shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade and becomes her servant—and a vampire!—Kizumonogatari III: Reiketsu-hen takes place!
9. Cowboy Bebop
Cowboy Bebop (1998-1999), one of the most popular American animes of all time, is a major factor in many Americans becoming anime lovers. Additionally, it has an 8.77 weighted rating from 737,728 users and falls into the adventure, comedy, drama, sci-fi and space categories.
On Earth, mankind have colonized several planets and moons, and the series takes place in the year 2071. Anime follows a motley crew of bounty hunters, including Spike Spiegel and Jet Black, as well as Ein, a genetically modified corgi, assassin Faye Valentine, and genius Edward Wong, who are all working together to take down bad guys.
10. Vinland Saga
In addition to being an action anime, Vinland Saga (2019) also falls under the categories of adventure and drama, as well as historical and seinen (scored by 511,243 users). The first two volumes of the manga were adapted into a 24-episode television series.
Vinland, the mythical land where there is no need for war in Thorfinn’s fantasy life, beckons to him. As the English-Danish conflict continues, that place feels like a distant memory.
