In anime and manga, height isn’t usually mentioned except for characters who are exceptionally small or incredibly tall. If you’re thinking of a silly character who makes light of their diminutive stature, chances are you’re picturing a short person. There are times when this is not the case.

There are a slew of diminutive characters who make up for their lack of height in terms of their distinct personalities and abilities. Some characters’ little stature may go unnoticed by viewers. Here are ten characters who are no taller than 5ft 6in.

Taiga and Ryuuji form a partnership early on in the series to help one other win the hearts of their respective crushes, Taiga’s being Yuusaku Kitamura. However, as the story unfolds, Taiga begins to realize that her feelings for Ryuuji are becoming more than just a friendly relationship..

2. Tanya Von Degurechaff From The Saga Of Tanya The Evil – Roughly 4’9”

Mondragón Rifles, which are 43.5 inches long, are used by Tanya and all other Empire magicians. Adding another 16 inches to their height is a knife bayonet attachment, making them nearly 5 feet tall in total. A little over 5 feet tall, Tanya is slightly smaller than these weapons.

Tanya was a salaryman who was slain in 2013 in her former life. Reincarnated as a young man in an alternate version of Europe during World War I due to a quarrel with God. Tanya joins the Mages of the Empire and helps lead her side to victory in several battles, retaining memories of her past existence. Her brutality in warfare has earned her the moniker “The Devil of Rhine”.

Demon Hiei is renowned as “Master of the Evil Eye” because of the third eye on top of his headband, the Jagan Eye. This fire demon’s father is a female ice demon and his mother is a fire demon. Hiei was taken in by a gang of robbers when his mother was forced to abandon him, and he was taught to kill.

Hiei is a great swordsman who can move at lightning speed. As a demon form, Jaganshi Form is his most powerful form, and he wears all black and wields a sword for combat.

4. Krillin From Dragon Ball Z – 5’0”

Krillin was selfish and brash as a boy, but he grew up to become Goku’s best friend and a respected part of their team. When it comes to Saiyan Z Fighters, Krillin is the most powerful Earthling and the best martial artist. He is a selfless person who is willing to give up his life for the sake of his friends and the entire globe.

He serves as a humorous relief character most of the time, yet he can be serious when the situation demands it. He had a daughter named Marron with Android 18 later in the story. Destructo Disc is his most well-known technique, in which he uses his Ki to generate razor-sharp discs. Almost everything will not stand a chance against this power disc.

Tornado of Terror, or Tatsumaki, is a Class S hero and the Hero Association’s Rank 2 hero. Powerful psychokinetics make her the strongest esper in the series. When people think she’s a kid, they’re typically shocked to learn she’s 28 years old. As a result, Tatsumaki is reluctant to accept that someone else is stronger than her, and she avoids confronting opponents who are stronger than her.

When she gets angry, she causes earthquakes, which is a danger to the normal people around her. While lacking empathy, she takes her role as a hero very seriously and will do everything she can to stop any harm that comes her way.

Shiro may be a natural at games and wits, but he struggles with understanding other people’s feelings and behaviors. She doesn’t speak much, and she doesn’t show much emotion. When Sora is not around, she is fully reliant on him, to the point where she is unable to function without him by her side.

Shiro and Sora embark on their ultimate gaming quest after being transported to the alternate universe of Disboard, where they must unify Disboard’s sixteen races in order to fight Tet, the One True God.

8. Hanzō Urushihara From The Devil Is A Part-Timer – 5’0”

Sadao Maou’s Lucifer, Urushihara’s nemesis in the Four Demon Generals. Lucifer was formerly a revered archangel, but he decided to leave his station in heaven and move to the Demon Realm instead. Compared to the rest of society, Lucifer is a bit of a NEET, preferring to play video games instead of going to work and coercing people into doing menial duties he doesn’t want to do himself.

Although he appears careless, Lucifer has shown affection towards his companions despite his slacker persona. Maou and Ashiya’s powers are limited on Earth, but Lucifer’s is substantially more strong when he is at full vigor.

9. Konata Izumi From Lucky Star – 4’8”

The Lucky Star crew is led by Konata, who is also the shortest. For the duration of the series, Konata and her pals are shown in their everyday routines, both in and out of the classroom. Konata is outgoing and kind, but she also has a playful side and delights in tease her friends. She’s a huge anime, manga, and video game enthusiast, having a deep passion for the genres.

While she is intelligent, Konata is prone to procrastination, which results in a lot of last-minute homework and poor scores. In order to avoid missing any of her shows, she refuses to join the school’s sports groups.
