10 Best Anime Like Soul Land That You Should Watching Update 04/2024

Anime Like Soul Land

Yu-senpai Yu-senpai is back with a list of Chinese anime that are comparable to Soul Land, which I know many of you are looking for. This is the most popular and watched donghua in China right now, after all, so it has to be good enough to be so popular.

One of my early donghua and possibly the first 3D Chinese animation I genuinely enjoyed seeing was Soul Land or Douluo Dalu. A good deal of action occurs, the animation isn’t terrible and is growing better all the time, the characters are engaging, and the world-building is intriguing and engrossing in and of itself. With its youthful romance and fantasy tropes, Soul Land has a more youthful audience in mind, making it a better fit for a younger demographic than other xinxia or xuanhuan donghua.

This post will include a list of Chinese anime that are similar to Soul Land, which I’d like to recommend to anyone who enjoys the series and is looking for a similar experience to Tang San’s quest for godhood, where his real goal is to become stronger so that he can protect the people who matter most to him.

10 Chinese Anime like Soul Land (Douluo Dalu)

1. Battle Through the Heavens

Battle Through the Heavens

You Cangqiong | Doupo When we talk about Soul Land, it’s impossible not to bring up Battle Through the Heavens as well. Almost at the same time, both donghua films were released in 3D and 3D. Each of them is blessed with genius talents and incredible bloodlines, yet they both made their way up the ranks through hard work and brilliance. All that matters in the end is safeguarding the ones you love, and both donghua focus on that.

2. Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation

It’s called Mo Dao Zu Shi in Mandarin. Okay, so both Chinese anime feature OP MCs; in the case of Tang San, he is reincarnated, while in the case of Wei Wuxian, he is transmigrated. Even though Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation has many of the characteristics of Soul Land, it focuses more on xinxia cultivation rather than on the xuanhuan aspect (which involved Western elements). This one, on the other hand, is more concerned with finding the truth and bringing to justice the person or persons responsible for the string of unfortunate events in question.

3. Tales of Demons and Gods

Tales of Demons and Gods

Yao Shen Ji | It’s true that we’ve had a god-like MC in the past, but he was also killed. However, the MC from Tales of Demons and Gods has been reverted to his adolescent self, where his cultivation is still at a beginner level while Tang San became a new entity with all of his memories intact. If only his memories were intact. He’ll use his expertise from prior lives in order to save those who are close to him.

4. Swallowed Star

An other Sparkly Key Animation 3D donghua, this time in partnership with a British studio, is called Tunshi Xingkong. Cultivation was set in the future and post-apocalyptic, based on the I Eat Tomatoes xinxia novel With its focus on protecting the people he cares about and battling off envious gaze, it shares a lot of similarities to Soul Land.

5. The Legend and the Hero

The Legend and the Hero

The Wu Geng Ji | Sparkly Key Animation is back with another donghua that tells an exhilarating tale of endurance and redemption, complete with the cliche of transmigration and the traditional tale of rising to the top via cultivation.

6. Martial Universe

The Wu Dong Qian Kun Another novel by Tian Can Tu Dou (Heavenly Silkworm Potato), the author of Battle Through the Heavens, was made into a new donghua film. In this typical family drama, the MC and his loved ones are subjected to a barrage of insults and betrayals before gradually growing in strength as he discovers his true potential. Similar to Battle Through the Heavens, Soul Land, and Stellar Transformations.

7. Spirit Sword Sovereign

Spirit Sword Sovereign

Ling Jian Zun | Another donghua with a story that’s remarkably identical to those of nearly every other series on this list. It’s common for the MCs of Soul Land and Spirit Sword Sovereign to be ridiculed since they have the worst or ordinary soul spirits, which limits their cultivation. Spirit Sword Sovereign’s MC died and was reincarnated, just like in Soul Land and Tales of Demons and Gods, and he began his new adventure to get to the top of the game’s rankings.

8. Stellar Transformations

It’s one of my favorite xinxia from this list, despite the fact that our MC, Qin Yu, lacks aptitude, and thus relies on external force to build his might. Xing Cheng Bian Like Battle Through the Heavens and Martial Universe, as well as Soul Land, this game follows the same principle.

9. Martial Master

Xinxia, demons, spiritual beings, martial arts, and a slew of other things are all present in this cultivation donghua that it has in common with Soul Land. After the MC was betrayed by his comrades, he was resurrected 300 years later and began reestablishing his reputation through bloodshed and vengeance once more.

10. Liu Yao: The Revitalization of Fuyao Sect

Liu Yao The Revitalization of Fuyao Sect

Similar to how Tang San rebuilt his former sect’s reputation from a previous life, the Tang Sect, Liu Yao will follow the same pattern in a Chinese anime. The resurgent member of his religion will be a troublemaker, so this will be a fascinating and amusing trip. Donghua may be delivering a story similar to A Will Eternal and Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation with Soul Land’s themes entrenched in its storyline. In addition, it’s a BL donghua based on a Priest novel.
