Basically, the story is about a guy who falls for a female he meets online, but he calls her “Mike” and now has to go all over Europe to find the girl he believed was a guy!

An online dating profile for her daughter is created by Diane Keaton, who plays a typical loving but intrusive mother in this film. Is this course of action working? Of course, you’ll have to see the movie!
This is a fantastic low-budget film that focuses nearly entirely on the online dating industry. It’s excellent for the task at hand, and it’s refreshing to alternate between big-budget blockbusters and independent films every now and again.
4. Must Love Dogs
With gorgeous pets and romantic comedy dating, you’ve got a winning combo for a girl’s night out. Thanks to Diane Lane and John Cusack, this entertaining film has both in abundance!
In this distressing film, the dangers of online dating are shown to the fullest extent. Grooming can go so far. Don’t watch it if you don’t want to see a lot of sex scenes between teenagers. Check see the movie together as an adult with a teenage daughter. It’s a wonderful lesson to take away.
6. Sex Drive
Just like the name suggests, this one performs exactly what it claims to do. In order to meet up with a hottie he’s been messaging online, a high school senior takes his friends on a cross-country road trip. There are, of course, plenty of opportunities for pranks along the route!
This is a wonderful video that provides you a glimpse into the more sinister side of internet dating, where people pretend to be someone else and massive lies become major problems.
8. You’ve Got Mail
One of the first official internet dating-style movies, perhaps!? With an initial icy connection between two business owners via email, this 1998 Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks classic slowly warms up.

When a woman’s sister sets up a dating profile for her, she ends up in a perilous and unpleasant situation with a potential suitor.
10. Napoleon Dynamite
One of the supporting characters in this comedic classic has a lot to do with online dating, and it becomes a vital component of his own side narrative in the film.
11. Hard Candy
Hard Candy, an Ellen Page film about a teenage girl who raids the home of a man she suspects to be an internet predator, is a good example of the darker side of the internet.

If you’ve ever wanted to see what happens when an online romance goes wrong in real life, this movie is for you!
