The Best Christmas Movies for Preschoolers, Toddlers and You to Watch Together
A lot of people suggested shorts based on the kids’ favorite characters when we were looking for Christmas movies. Examples include Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig.

We were looking for a collection of movies that we could watch with our children as they grew up, as well as when they were younger.

If we had to choose only three Christmas movies that the whole family would enjoy, these would be our picks:
#1 The Snowman
The book, the music, and the film are all fantastic. Based on Raymond Briggs’ The Snowman, the 30-minute film is part of our Storybook Advent.
The story follows a small boy and his snowman as they travel to the North Pole, where they attend the Snowman Party, before returning home. If we didn’t have kids, I would still watch this every Christmas because it’s such a beautiful short film.

#2 The Polar Express
Another film adaptation of a novel. Another favorite is The Polar Express, which clocks in at just over an hour and a half. As a toddler, my daughter was unable to sit through it, but by the time she was a pre-schooler, she was a huge fan.
He does not believe in Santa in the story, but the Polar Express takes him up to see for himself that Santa is real and that there is Christmas magic at the top of the world

This is a wonderful movie to watch with your child as the holiday season approaches.

Classic Christmas Kids Movies Your Toddlers and Preschoolers will enjoy
As far as I’m concerned, what distinguishes something as a classic? As an example, I’ll use something I saw as a kid.
The first time I recall sitting down with my parents and grandparents on Christmas Eve to watch it together was when I was a kid. An adaptation of “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” (107 minutes). The story and the sleigh flying through the skies were both enjoyable to me. You can pick it up right now and be transported back to your own childhood memories.
It’s impossible for me not to watch “Miracle on 34th Street” throughout the holiday season (96 minutes). It’s a terrific addition to any family’s Christmas movie library, even though I prefer the remake. In addition, your little children will enjoy it because it is so brief. Keep an eye out for questions regarding why it’s black and white.

It’s a terrific movie to watch over the holidays if you’re a fan of the Christmas song “Frosty the Snowman”, and it’s only 26 minutes long.
One another of my favorite childhood cartoons: A Charlie Brown Christmas (25 minutes). In addition to the fact that it’s a short film, it’s also a good one to watch with the grandparents and great-grandparents.
Animated Christmas Movies For Family Movie Night
The classics from Disney should be included in any list of Christmas movies for families, in my opinion.
Mickey’s Christmas Carol is our family’s favorite among the Disney Christmas movies (58 minutes). When it comes to the original Charles Dickens novel and Jim Carrey’s current Disney adaptation, I find both to be a little too disturbing for my young children, but I still love viewing Mickey Mouse’s version with my teenagers.
Mickey’s Once and Twice Upon a Christmas (67/68 minutes together in the box set) has been a favorite of my kids since they were tiny, and I’ve enjoyed watching it with them as well.
Another Fan Favorite of Mickey Mouse’s It snowed in Mickey’s house for Mickey’s Magical Christmas (65 minutes). This is a great example of bringing together characters from a variety of Disney films. Anyone in your household who is a Disney fan will love it.
As a child The Jim Henson Company When my kids were little, I exposed them to the Muppets and their characters and films. An adaptation of Charles Dickens’ novel, The Muppet Christmas Carol (86 minutes) is a little scarier than the Mickey Version above.
We enjoy some of the new animated Christmas movies for youngsters as well as the classics from Disney.
Landing and Takeoff (22 minutes) This animated short is a lot of fun for the whole family to watch. The clever elves are hilarious, even if your grandparents haven’t seen it yet.
Arthur Christmas (97 minutes) is a newer film, but the whole family will enjoy it. Santa’s son Arthur needs to save the enchantment of Christmas for a child who was left off the list.
Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a must-see while discussing holiday film selections (26 minutes). We’ve just included the cartoon, not the more recent film, because it’s brighter, more colorful, and shorter for toddlers and preschoolers, but it’s fun for everyone.
The Grinch Themed Movie Night is a great way to spend time with your family while watching the movie.
