Top 10 Anime Cat Characters That You Should Know Update 04/2024

Anime Cat Characters

We’ve seen a lot of anime cats in the series, and while there are a few dogs here and there, they’re far and away the most common characters.

There are a plethora of nyan-adding critters out there, complete with cat ears and the ability to speak.

The finest anime kitty characters I’ve come across so far include satanic progeny of the devil, human-like felines, and even a few female cats who say “nyan.”

Let’s get started with the list of the most adorable anime cats of all time.

10. Maya From Azumanga Daioh

Maya From Azumanga Daioh

The Iriomote Mountain cartoon cat Maya is Sakaki’s personal pet. On Okinawa’s Iriomote Island, Sakaki first encountered him as a kitten, and he was the first cat to let her pet it.

Class 3’s visit to Iriomote necessitated that they be separated when they returned to Tokyo.

In the end, Sakaki found out about the death of an Iriomote Cat that was ran over by a car and looked a lot like Maya’s mom later on in life.

9. Neko sensei From Princess Tu Tu

He flirts with adult characters and seems to have a plan to marry any of his students who misbehave as a form of “punishment.”

When it is discovered that he does not wish to marry any of the female teachers or students he calls “two freaking bothersome repulsive stalkers” in the second season, the plot thickens.

Unlike the other animal characters, he is last seen in the concluding episode as an ordinary cat.

8. Shamisen From The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Shamisen From The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Haruhi Suzumiya’s The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya is the first anime to include a stray cat as “Yukifamiliar, “‘s Shamisen.

That Shamisen is a male calico cat with Klinefelter’s disease is a very rare event, occurring only once in 3,000 cats.

Shamisen is the cat’s name that Haruhi chooses. Kyon’s younger sister nicknames Shamisen “Shami.”

7. Happy From Fairy Tail

However diminutive and eccentric Happy may appear, he’s extremely dedicated to his comrades and fellow guild members, even going so far as to outrank Lucy and Natsu when it comes to Magical expertise.

The fact that he’s spent his entire life around Natsu Dragneel has made Happy a lot like Natsu.

6. Puck From Re:Zero

Puck From Re Zero

I think Puck is a good spirit. He is overjoyed, and he is always by Emilia’s side, calling her “Lia”.

He has a sense of humor and gets along well with Beatrice in particular.

When Emilia dies, Puck’s attitude changes dramatically, and he is even willing to destroy the world in order to fulfill the terms of their pact.

5. Kuro From Blue Exorcist

A playful and animated feline, as evidenced by his continual prodding of Rin to engage in play with him.

When the human bulldozers invaded his shrine and he battled them, it was clear to see he has a fierce side. Catnip wine from Shiro is his favorite. Rin’s back is where he usually sleeps.

When he finally accepts the fact that Shiro died, he sheds a few tears. He doesn’t like being alone.

4. Chomusuke From Konosuba

Chomusuke From Konosuba

Even though Chomusuke is unable to communicate in human languages, she appears bright enough to grasp human speech to some degree.

Kazuma once observed her using her fire breath to cook leftover fish. Chomusuke was bullied by other youngsters because her actual power had been locked away for a long period.

Aqua and Emperor Zell are the only two characters that this anime cat does not get along with. She is fond of Wiz and Kazuma because of the additional consideration they have shown her.

3. Anpu From The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.: Reawakened

After being saved by Kusuo, he begins to pay frequent visits to Kusuo’s home in an attempt to gain her devotion.

He once enlisted the help of Kusuo, disguised as a cat known as Psi, in an attempt to seduce a female catPushi.

Afterwards, Kusuo strokes him as a reward for saving him from a bug.

2. Meowth From Pokémon

Meowth From Pokémon

When Meowth’s tail and hind paws touch the ground, they turn a darker shade of brown.

There are two sharp teeth in the upper jaw and a goldkobancoin inserted in the forehead of its ovoid head. It has four noticeable whiskers.

It has black ears with brown interiors and an extra pair of long whiskers on either side of it.

1. Madara From Natsume’s Book of Friends

His demeanor is a little sarcastic. When he first meets Takashi, he is merely there to defend him for the sake of the Book of Friends, but as the series goes, he grows closer to not only Takashi but Natori, Tanuma, and Taki, as well.

Nyanko inflicting serious injury to Natsume Comedic and self-serving are some of the words that may be used to define his behavior throughout the series.

Even though he appears adult, Madara has a fun and childish side; he drinks excessively and gorges on dango and other sweets, making him fatter and rounder as a result.
