#1 Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014)
“Exodus: Gods and Kings” is an epic biblical film based on the biblical story of Moses leading the Hebrews out of Egypt.
Ben Kingsley as the Nun, Sigourney Weaver as Tuya, Ben Mendelsohn as the Viceroy Hegep, Aaron Paul as Joshua, John Turturro as Seti, Joel Edgerton for Ramesses II, and Christian Bale for Moses star in this picture.
It was a huge success at the box office, grossing over $268 million worldwide. For “historical inaccuracies,” it was outlawed in Egypt and the UAE.
Steven Zaillian, Jeffrey Caine, Bill Collage, and Adam Cooper wrote the screenplay. Ridley Scott was in charge of both the camera and the editing.
#2 Mosè e Faraone, o Il passaggio del Mar Rosso (2003)
Moses in Egypt is Rossini’s re-telling of the narrative.
#3 The Life of Moses (1909)
Life of Moses,” a silent epic film, tells the story of Moses from the Bible. Julia Arthur and Pat Hartigan both star in the film.
The movie theater owners were fiercely opposed to the picture at the time. The Vitagraph Company produced and directed the picture, which was shot by J. Stuart Blackton.
#4 Patterns of Evidence: Exodus (2014)
Exodus is a documentary on the biblical tale of the Hebrew slaves’ exodus from Egypt, entitled “Patterns of Evidence: Exodus.”
In it, experts in the fields of biblical studies, history, and archaeology share their knowledge. During the Pan Pacific Picture Festival in 2014, the film was released. Tim Mahoney directed it.
#5 The Ten Commandments (1923)
Jeanie MacPherson and Cecil B. DeMille wrote and directed “The Ten Commandments,” a silent religious epic film.
In the United States, it was put into the public domain in 2019.
The King of Kings (1927) and The Sign of the Cross (1928) followed (1932).
#6 Moses und Aron (1975)
Based on Arnold Schoenberg’s unfinished opera “Moses und Aron,” “Moses und Aron” is a cinematic adaptation.
A screening of the film took place at the Cannes Film Festival in 1975. Egypt and Italy served as the filming locations. Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet shared the directing duties.
#7 Wholly Moses! (1980)
Wholly Moses! depicts the story of two visitors who uncover an ancient scroll recounting the life of Herschel, the man who was almost Moses.
Paul Sand and Laraine Newman are among the many actors who appear in the picture. The rest of the cast includes John Ritter and David Lander as well as Dom DeLuise, Jack Gilford and Laraine Newman.
#8 The Prince of Egypt (1998)
The life of Moses was shown in “The Prince of Egypt,” an animated musical play. The movie raked in almost $218 million in box office revenue globally.
Martin Short, Val Kilmer, Steve Martin, Ralph Fiennes, Helen Mirren, Michelle Pfeiffer, Patrick Stewart, Danny Glover, Jeff Goldblum, and Sandra Bullock all provide their voices to the project.
Hans Zimmer is responsible for the music. DreamWorks Animation was in charge of filming and editing.
#9 The Ten Commandments: The Movie (2016)
One of Brazil’s most popular films, “The Ten Commandments,” is based on the Ten Commandments.
As previously mentioned, this is an adaption of the Rede Record TV series from 2015.
#10 The Ten Commandments (1956)
Religious drama “The Ten Commandments” was shot on location in Sinai, Egypt’s Mount Sinai, and Egypt’s capital city of Cairo. An adaptation of the 1923 silent film of the same name is featured in the film.
The Library of Congress has chosen it for preservation in the United States National Film Registry. The film was honored with an Academy Award for Outstanding Visual Effects for its stunning visuals.
Yul Brynner portrays Rameses, Judith Anderson portrays Memnet, Anne Baxter portrays Nefretiri, Martha Scott portrays Yochabel, Edward G. Robinson portrays Dathan, and Nina Foch portrays Bithiah in the film starring Vincent Price as Baka.
Cecil B. DeMille was responsible for the production, direction, and narration.
#11 The Ten Commandments: The Musical (2006)
The premiere of “The Ten Commandments: The Musical” took place on September 21, 2004, at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.
Nicky Rodriguez, Val Kilmer, Michelle Pereira, Kevin Earley… Alisan Porter… Adam Lambert… Lauren Kennedy are all part of the cast of the movie.
Robert Iscove was the man behind the camera for this production.
#12 Moses (miniseries – 1995)
Christopher Lee portrayed Ramesses II, Frank Langella played Merneptah, and Ben Kingsley portrayed Moses in the TV miniseries “Moses.”
