The Shibusen, a renowned technical school led by the Shinigami–Lord Death–is located in Death City. With their “Death Scythes” the Shinigami will be able to defend their wondrous planet from its numerous enemies. Human hybrids with the capacity to convert themselves into Demon Weapons are the only ones who can create these Death Scythes, and only after they absorb the souls of 99 evil creatures and one witch’s.
It’s the goal of Demon Scythe, Soul Eater Evans, and straight-laced wielder or meister Maka Albarn to transform Evans from Demon Scythe to Death Scythe. Alongside Black Star and Tsubaki, as well as the Shinigami’s own son Death the Kid, a dual-wielding Patty and Liz, the contrasted trio labor and study together. As these students of Shibusen engage on missions to harvest souls and protect the city from the world’s threats, they work together under the snickering sun to improve their mental, physical, and spiritual health.
