Ajay Devgn’s status as a leading man in the cannon of Hindi action cinema was cemented with this film. Ajay’s career took a major shift in that moment. It cost $40 million to make this film, yet it made a stunning $1.57 billion. In addition, don’t forget about the dialogue and the songs that elevated this film to new heights. Everybody knows that Rohit Shetty movies are known for their car-crushing and soaring moments. Add a dynamic hero, a brilliant villain, and ultimate direction, and you get Singham as the by-product. It’s not a stretch to suggest that this film was a hit with Hindi action movie fans.

3) Uri – The Surgical Strike

This is a new Hindi action film that has received an IMDB rating of 8.2/10, making it a must-see on the site. Few recent Bollywood action films have made it to IMDB’s top 8 list. This one stands out for a few reasons. Remember the “how’s the josh” dialogue? It instantly brings back memories of this film and, of course, the beautiful Vicky Kaushal. The action scenes between Major Vihaan Singh Shergill (Vicky Kaushal) and the militants had the spectators riveted to their seats. Even though it was fictionalized, this film was based on real events of reprisal and a surgical strike by the Indian army against insurgents.

4) Mardaani

Not all Hindi films have male protagonists. Similarly, we have female protagonists in Hindi action films. In Mardaani, Rani Mukherjee starred as Shivani Roy, a cop. Her outstanding acting prowess made her brave and powerful character look effortless. She fearlessly uncovers and nabs child trafficking organizations in this action-packed movie. Fearless in her approach to dealing with these traffickers, she pursues and captures them.

5) Bandit Queen

Banned in society because of a film that was too advanced for its day. It’s possible that our audience wasn’t as prepared to embrace a female lead in Hindi action movies as it is now. It’s also extremely horrible in its own right. The events of Phoolan Devi’s life were shown in this film, which was based on a true story.

Before reading this, if you didn’t already know about the atrocities Phoolan Devi had to go through as a lower caste woman in rural India, you should know now. Not only was she subjected to racial profiling, but she was also raped many times.

Even if you can’t recall the title of the film, you’ll likely recall the song “Goli Maar Bheje Mein,” Kallu Mama, Bhiku Mhatre, or the film’s protagonist, Satya, from the soundtrack or elsewhere in the film.

Last but not least, we have another classic from the late 1990s in the form of this one. With an IMDB score of 8.2 and a rotten tomato rating of 90%, this is unquestionably one of the best Hindi action films ever made. Anurag Kashyap wrote the screenplay for Ram Gopal Varma’s Satya, which he directed, produced, and starred in alongside J. D. Chakravarthy.

10) Ab Tak Chhappan

This film, which stars Nana Patekar as the holy cop Sadhu, is about Sadhu’s efforts to rid our country of the criminal underworld, and it stars Patekar as Sadhu. Righteous cops have to deal with rivalry from both the government and their own officers. As a result, both personally and professionally, things start to go wrong.

Though his wife and work have been taken away from him, he has not given up on his goal of eliminating crime. This crime-action film should be on your “to watch” list if you enjoy watching movies with lots of action.

11) Vaastav
