What could be cooler than having an ice-powered character in an anime?
I don’t know about you, but I’m not a fan of the cold during the winter months. To put it mildly, I take ice users very seriously since I can’t image what it would be like to live in frigid temps.
Fire and lightning are more eye-catching, but ice powers are truly captivating–and deceptively dangerous. If you thought ice magic was limited to glistening snowflakes, you’ve got a lot to learn.
It’s about time we talked about some strong characters who can control ice. Ice-wielding characters in anime include:
15. Mizore Shirayuki (Rosario + Vampire)
Do you recall the serial killer stalker kid? Yes, Mizore is the name. Yuki-Onna is the name of her yokai form (Ice woman). Mizore has most of the Yuki-skills, Onna’s but she lacks a few of them.
As a result, she is able to make everything from ice claws to ice daggers to even clones. She devotes the majority of her abilities to her favorite pastime: stalking the protagonist.
14. Horokeu Usui (Shaman King)
As Usui Lucan’s son in the Shaman King series, Horokeu Usui (also known as Horohoro) belongs to the Ainu tribe. He and Kororo, his guardian ghost, can freeze the atmosphere to strike his enemies.
This is the first time his oversoul has been used as a shield instead of a snowboard. Anything that comes into contact with Horokeu’s right gauntlet is instantly frozen and shattered.
13. Yukihina (Code Breaker)
In the Code Breaker series, Yukihina is a villain with minimal sadistic inclinations; nothing out of the ordinary for an icy bad guy. Water vapor may be used to make snow and ice, which he frequently employs in both offensive and defensive situations. Yukihina’s ice is unusual in that even fire is unable to break it.
He can transform his body into ice, shatter it, and reform it, making it difficult to defeat him. He utilizes this ability to travel anyplace he wants. Using ice, Yukihina can also re-attach severed body parts; in other words, he regenerates from the frozen substance.
12. Lyon Vastia (Fairy Tail)
If you’re a fan of the fairy tale series, you may recall him as GrayFullbuster’s egotistical adversary. Lyon, despite his considerable strength, is prone to making naive mistakes. If Hiro Mashima asked Lyon how much confidence you need, I’m sure he answered “yes.”
Ur’s Ice Magic is one of a kind because both Gray and Lyon studied under the same instructor.
It’s also possible to create hundreds of replicas of any animal using Lyon’s ice magic. Each of Lyon’s familiar animals has its own unique talents.
He can even build a copy of himself using ice magic, which is really cool. Lyon is comfortable and familiar with ice magic.
11. Issac McDougal (FMT Brotherhood)
Issac was motivated by resentment for his country, which led him to become the show’s antagonist. His death was either fortunate or tragic; he was killed by the same person Issac was trying to kill, the Fuhrer.
Although he was capable of fighting on equal terms with FMT Brotherhood’s greatest fighter, Ray Mustang, in his peak.
Alchemist Issac can freeze anything that contains water, including blood. To construct weapons out of his own blood, he has been shown in the series.
10. Katara (Airbender)
The majority of anime aficionados had a crush on Katara as a child (I still have a crush on her). Even the normals were aware of her presence because she was so well-liked. Please, for the love of all anime gods, watch Avatar the Last Airbender.
The advanced waterbending method Katara has learned combines ice, allowing her to make freezing mist.
Katara employs a variety of sophisticated tactics, including ice creeper, ice disc, ice shield, and ice spear, that can be used for both defense and offensive.
9. Shouto Todoroki (My Hero Academia)
Shouto, MHA’s hot and cold youngster, is one of the show’s central characters. Shouto’s special ability is that he can use both fire and ice at the same time. Due to his dislike for his fire quirk, he is more likely to use his ice quirk, which he has honed to a high level.
During a match, Shouto caused half of the stadium to freeze. Because of his quirk, he is still capable of becoming the most powerful hero in My Hero Academia, despite the frostbites he receives.
8. Geten (My Hero Academia)
The My Hero Academia anime has yet to feature Geten. Geten has a mysterious aura that has sparked hundreds of speculations from admirers regarding his origins.
While Shouto can make ice, Geten is more like an ice magnet, manipulating ice in the space around him. He then uses the snow he has attracted to create a variety of intricate constructions.
Geten has dedicated his life to perfecting his ice-manipulation skills, making him a deadly adversary.
7. Haku (Naruto)
Haku, in my opinion, is a tragic figure because he was used as a tool despite his reluctance to kill. Still, Haku was corrupted and transformed into an assassin because he craved attention.
When it comes to killing, Haku has an edge thanks to his Demonic Mirroring Ice Crystal. It creates the illusion of being present in multiple locations at once, making it an excellent tactic for a surprise attack.
In order to protect himself, he creates an ice dome and utilizes it to mold his ice release into huge spikes. Ninjutsu appears to be able to alter the weather around him and cause snow to fall.
6. Rukia Kuchiki (Bleach)
Rukia is one of Bleach’s most powerful characters, despite the fact that she doesn’t appear to be. Furthermore, she is now the 13th Division’s captain. With her Kido skills, it’s often useful to Rukia in combat.
You can freeze anything you touch if you can get your hands on Shirayuki’s Sode no Shirayuki. She can freeze the floor beneath her feet, and she can also bring the temperature down to absolute zero using this power.
5. Judar (Magi)
If you’re looking for a companion, Judar is not the one. He’s an unstable Magi with insane inclinations. As one of the four ice magi, Judar is an important member of the group.
As soon as he touches the region, the area is frozen to the point of immobility. Judar can also shape his magic into a blade, and his ice magic and wind magic can generate tremendous tornadoes when used in conjunction.
4. Gray Fullbuster (Fairy Tail)
When this guy begins to strip, you know something big is about to happen. Gray, on the other hand, continues to strip even when he isn’t battling. It is Gray’s master Ur who instilled this habit in him; it was her manner of coping with the cold and utilizing ice magic.
As a result, Gray is currently Fairy Tail’s strongest ice mage. While Lyon can shape his ice magic, Gray’s strength is largely derived from creating nonliving things.
Those ice-eating mukbang videos have you seen? That’s Gray, I’m sure of it. Gray has been able to recharge his vitality by eating ice since he learnt devil slaying magic from his father.
3. Esdeath (Akame ga Kill)
Sadistic general Esdeath has no qualms about inflicting physical and mental scars on her foes. This also means that she is a staunch supporter of Charles Darwin’s hypothesis, which is typically presented in an unorthodox manner. Even if innocent lives were sacrificed in the process, she wouldn’t care if her purpose was completed.
Esdeath’s Cryokinesis and power to freeze time allow her to slaughter her adversaries. A large army of centaurs can be summoned using ice, as well as spears and daggers.
As far as I know, she froze the continent of Antarctica once. Is it possible to believe this? It’s a whole continent of land!
2. Toshiro Hitsugaya (Bleach)
In Toshiro’s demeanor, he symbolizes the coldness of the ice element. This kid prodigy is known for his ability to generate enormous spiritual force.
All that stands in its way is frozen in a few seconds thanks to Toshiro’s spiritual power.
Toshiro is rumored to have the strongest ice Zanpakuto in the entire world, according to legend. With his swordsmanship, he can control both ice and water, as leader of Gotei 13’s 10th Division.
1. Aokiji Kuzan (One Piece)
Ice-wielding Aokiji is the most powerful in anime. For all Logia-types, he has the most potential because of his ability to change an island’s environment with the Hie Hie no Mi Devil Fruit, which enables him to manipulate and transform his own body into ice. Frost-immobilizing swords can also be created by him.
The majority of One Piece fans were aware that this man will soon rise to the top of the ice-using ranks.
Moreover, it’s understandable because Aokiji is so unique in that she can actually transform into ice. Now that’s what I call a character with too much power.
In spite of being a detractor, his thoughts are admirable and his concept of justice is considerably different from that of other Marines
Despite the fact that he served in the Marines, he is sometimes overlooked because of his relaxed demeanor.
