Bryn Terfel

in Recital

Bryn TerfelBryn Terfel, the world's most acclaimed bass baritone, returns to Singapore for one recital only on Sunday, 5 November 2006 at the Esplanade Concert Hall.

Accompanied by Michael Pollock, Bryn will perform a popular programme to include opera arias from Verdi’s Falstaff, Mozart’s Don Giovanni and Bizet’s Carmen, as well as Bryn’s favourite recital and show songs.

Regarded as the most popular opera singer of his generation, Bryn’s concert recitals are greeted with euphoric critical acclaim and nightly standing ovations.  His repertoire covers a wide variety of genres – from Opera, German Lieder and Handle to Welsh folk songs and the hits of Rodgers and Hammerstein.

He is the hottest property in opera throughout the world, performing in all the great opera houses such as the Metropolitan Opera in New York, La Scala in Milan and The Royal Opera House at Covent Garden in London, as well as the world's most prestigious concert halls from New York to London and Sydney to Tokyo.  Some of the many roles he has made his own included Figaro, Don Giovanni, Falstaff, Jochanaan (Salome) and, most recently, Wotan (Ring Cycle) and Scarpia (Tosca).

This concert recital offers a unique opportunity to enjoy an intimate evening with a legendary performer at the peak of his career, and is certainly one not to be missed.

“Bryn Terfel is a true Bass-baritone, rolling out sonorous rivers of sound!” – The New York Times

Performances are also planned in Perth and Hong Kong during November. Please keep an eye on this website for further tour information.
